Pet care experience

I've had dogs in my life for over 15 years, so I know firsthand how important it is to find someone you genuinely trust when you're away. Our goal is simple: to make your dog feel safe, comfortable and at home while giving you peace of mind that they're in great hands. We've been Rover sitters for about 7 years and have been lucky enough to build lasting relationships with many of our dogs and their owners. Eirik is the primary sitter and will usually be the one you communicate with when you reach out. We work from home, which means your pup gets plenty of attention throughout the day and is rarely left alone for long periods. Our home also has a large, secure fenced yard with plenty of room to play, explore or simply relax outside. Our weekdays start early and typically include plenty of outdoor time, walks and breaks throughout the day. In the afternoons, we're often hanging out in the yard, going for a walk or jog, or relaxing at home. Active dogs are always welcome to join in, while dogs who prefer a quieter routine are just as welcome to make themselves comfortable. We know every dog is different, and we do our best to maintain your pup's normal routine, follow your care instructions and make their stay feel as familiar as possible. We also send regular photos and updates so you can enjoy your time away without having to wonder how they're doing. For dogs that don't get along well with other animals, we may be able to accommodate an exclusive stay if we have enough notice and no conflicting bookings. Just let us know when you reach out and we can discuss what will work best for your pup. We look forward to meeting you and your dog!

My dog Lola has been regularly going with Eirik for a little over a month now a few times a week. She was a little shy at first since it was a new environment but Eirik made her feel comfortable/welcome to be there so she walks right in now. She always has fun playing and I am always sent lots of pictures and videos throughout the day! She also really enjoys the daily walks. Would definitely recommend.

My mini golden doodle puppy Max had the best day with Eirick! It was our first time leaving him with someone we didn’t know. Lots of pic updates through the day put us at ease. Easy communication. Will definitely book again :)

Maria was fantastic! She provided frequent updates of our dogs, super cute videos/pictures, and was always very responsive to messages. Our two dogs had the best time ever and recommend María without hesitation. They were able to play in the yard and enjoy lots of fun activities! We will exclusively be using her for any future vacations.

Schedule

I work from home, so your pup will have plenty of company, attention and outdoor time throughout the day. My days start early, around 5:30 AM, with a morning potty break and time in the secure fenced yard. Throughout the workday, dogs are welcome to relax inside with me, play in the yard or nap wherever they're most comfortable. I take breaks for walks and outdoor time and can easily accommodate your dog's usual feeding, potty and exercise schedule. Afternoons often include more time outside while I wrap up work or work out in the garage, followed by an evening walk before dinner and a relaxed night at home. I try to keep each dog's routine as close to what they're used to as possible.

Safety, trust & environment

My home has a secure, fully fenced yard where dogs can safely play, explore and relax throughout the day. The gate is kept locked, and I always supervise outdoor time based on each dog's needs and behavior. Safety is my priority on walks as well. Dogs are kept securely leashed and I stay attentive to traffic, other dogs and their surroundings. I keep both my home and yard clean and well maintained, and I don't use pesticides in the yard. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable environment where your pup can settle in and feel at home.

Pets

A typical day

A typical day includes plenty of time outside in the yard, walks around the neighborhood, playtime and lots of attention throughout the day. Since I work from home, your pup can hang out with me rather than spending most of the day alone. I enjoy staying active, so dogs who love longer walks or a little extra exercise will have a great companion. For pups who prefer taking it easy, there's plenty of room to relax inside or lounge in the yard. Evenings are usually pretty relaxed with dinner, a final walk and some time on the couch. I adjust activities to each dog's energy level, personality and normal routine so they can feel as comfortable and at home as possible.

Every dog is different, so I'd love to know as much as possible about your pup before their stay. Their safety, comfort and routine are my priorities. Please let me know about any medications, allergies or health needs, as well as their usual feeding, sleeping, potty and exercise schedule. I'd also like to know how they typically interact with other dogs and people, whether they have any separation anxiety, and if there's anything that tends to make them nervous or uncomfortable. Please also mention any important behaviors I should be aware of, such as trying to escape, resource guarding or pulling on walks. The more I know about your pup ahead of time, the easier it is for me to make their stay safe, comfortable and feel like home.
