As a retired pet lover, caring for animals is a natural and enjoyable part of my everyday life. I am home full-time, so your dog or cat will never be short on attention, snuggles, or potty breaks! My daily routine revolves around the pets in my care—morning walks or playtime, regular feeding schedules, quiet nap time, and evening wind-down cuddles. Whether your pet needs active play or a calm environment, I adjust my day to meet their needs. I also keep their routine as close to home as possible, including meal times, medication, and bedtime rituals. With no work distractions and a flexible schedule, your pet gets my full focus every day of the week. ***Minutes away from Devil's Den Spring, Blue Grotto and Cedar Lakes Woods & Gardens.

In my calm, pet-friendly 5 acre fenced home, your furry family member will be treated with the same love and attention I give my own senior Dachshund, Ginger. At 14 years old, Ginger is gentle and spends most of her day relaxing and napping. I maintain a clean, cozy space with no stairs or hazards, and I closely supervise all pets to ensure safety and comfort. I follow each pet’s routine—whether that’s a special diet, medication schedule, or favorite toy at bedtime. I only board one pet at a time (unless there are two pets from the same family) to ensure everyone gets plenty of one-on-one attention. Because I’m retired and home full-time, I'm always nearby to keep an eye on things, provide comfort, or just offer a warm lap and gentle ear rub. Your pet’s well-being is my top priority, and I work hard to make sure they feel safe, relaxed, and right at home. ***Minutes away from Devil's Den Spring, Blue Grotto and Cedar Lakes Woods & Gardens.

Information Maria C. would like to know about your pet
To give your pet the best possible care, I like to know a few key details in advance. Please let me know: Your pet’s daily routine – meal times, walks, potty breaks, and favorite activities. Medical needs – any medications, allergies, or special care instructions. Behavioral notes – how they react to new people, other animals, or being alone Comfort items – favorite toys, bedding, or anything that helps them feel at home. Training cues – commands they know or are working on (sit, stay, leash manners, etc.). I have the time and flexibility to adjust to your pet’s unique needs and routines. The more I know ahead of time, the better I can make their stay calm, comfortable, and full of love.
A typical day
My days are calm, structured, and filled with time dedicated to the pets I care for. I start the morning with a relaxed walk or throwing a ball outside, perfect for dogs who enjoy sniffing and stretching their legs. Throughout the day, I maintain a quiet and cozy home where pets can feel safe and comfortable. I’m always nearby to offer belly rubs, gentle playtime, and companionship—whether it’s a cat curled up on my lap or a pup snoozing by my side. With no job to rush off to, I’m able to give pets my full attention and care throughout the day. Every pet has their own personality, and I love getting to know what makes them happy. For dogs, that might mean long walks, playtime in the yard, or a game of fetch. For cats, it could be birdwatching from a sunny window, chasing a feather toy, or simply cuddling. I also enjoy brushing and grooming when pets enjoy it—it's a great way to bond. Whether it's learning a new trick or just relaxing together, I make sure every pet feels loved, engaged, and right at home.

Finchi's stay with Maria couldn't have been better !! She was very accommodating to his special needs. She sent pictures every day and some feedback to put my mind at ease. Maria and her husband have the perfect set up - a one story house on a fenced in property. Finchi is a senior dog and it was easy for him to navigate. We do not travel often, but I would use Maria again if we did. I highly recommend using Maria as she is a very caring and responsible household to leave your dog in. She cared for Finchi as if he were her own. ;-)
