Port Isabel Dog Care
Pet care experience
I have owned dogs most of my life and enjoy having them around. I have been taking care of dogs through Rover for four years. I have had big, small, old and young pups. Some are instantly at home and others are shy or anxious for a bit but normally settle in within a day or so. I work part time but either my son or I are always on hand whenever we have a dog in the house. We have a two year old Westie named Walker. He has had Rover dogs here since he was 8 weeks old and takes it in his stride. He likes to play but seems to understand if the visiting dog doesn't have any interest. We have a two story house with the main living area on the second floor so there are stairs involved. If stairs are a problem it is possible for a guest dog to stay on the first floor where they would have company and easy access to the outdoors. There is a doggy door on the first floor exiting to a fully fenced yard. Any guest dog that is not used to using one would be taken out as needed as well as walked. Dogs are never left in the yard by themselves. Dogs are most comfortable when they have their own food and beds. Owners should supply any items that would make the their pet feel at home. (beds, crates, toys, blankets etc.) Dogs would observe the same rules as at their home. There will be an extra charge for dogs under three months of age as they require more attention and care. I am comfortable giving meds if needed and taking care of dogs with special needs. I think that dogs would enjoy being with us. They get lots of attention and love and we try to make them feel like their are at home. I usually have no more than four dogs at a time. However sometimes dogs that are coming and going overlap and we might have one or two more for part of the day. I try to have only one new dog at a time. Until I learn about a dog's personality he or she takes more time and attention so I sometimes have to turn down a request if the dog doesn't fit into the mix. We are five minutes from the bridge to South Padre We never leave a visiting dog alone and I always take into consideration the personalities of dogs that we accept at the same time. I want the dog to enjoy being with us and their owner confident that their dog is happy and safe whether they are here for a week of a few hours. Owners staying at the Island are welcome to pick up their dog to take to the beach Please feel free to call or text me if you have any questions or concerns about booking a spot for your dog.

Margot was awesome with working with our schedule. They sent pictures to us, Emma did well. If we are in the area again we will definitely use !! Thanks!
Thanks for looking after our dogs and making sure they got their medicine!
We had the best boarding experience with Margot! We stayed on the island at a place that would not allow dogs, so Margot took care of our dog Rowan while we were there. We picked him up each day to play in the ocean, and either she or her son was always available when we picked up or dropped off. Margot was extremely communicative and very flexible with our needs. She literally made our trip an amazing experience, and we can’t wait to come back and do it again. Rowan quickly felt safe and comfortable in her home.
I’m really happy with the care I received for my dog, Keenai. He was very happy when I picked him up and even smelled better than when I first dropped him off. I received pictures and updates throughout the day of how he was doing which put me at ease.
