Information Margie M. would like to know about your pet

Small dogs only, No large breed puppies accepted due to energy level and tripping hazard for me. Can't risk fall or broken bones as I am a senior person.

A typical day

Playing with balls, tug toys ( ropes, socks, etc...). Do not walk dogs as there is a side yard in the fenced area that functions as a dog run for exercise.

Pet care experience

I am a retired grandmother of two Scotties and one awesome boy. I can provide nearly constant supervision with regular visits from my grandson. My outdoor area consists of three separate levels of decking with grassy, landscaped sides all of which is surrounded by a 6ft cedar fence. I can provide a focused and loving environment for your baby while you are away. When your fur baby is with me, they become a member of my family. Their safety and well being is my focus. They are never let outside in my fenced back yard unless I am with them, rain or sunshine. They will have lots of outside time early mornings and late afternoons, as weather allows. Potty breaks as needed or every two hours. I am retired and at home the majority of the time I am hosting a fur baby or two. If I have an errand to run or appointment to keep, usually am gone no more than three hours. I have gates to keep pooches apart until they have a chance to adjust to each other. I have several crates, usually needed at feeding times, overnight stays, aggressive/destructive behavior, puppies and for male fur babies that need to mark their territory inside. Can't wait to meet your babies!! I am retired and home unless I have an appointment. Most all appointments are locai and rarely away more than an hour. Errands take less so am there with your fur babies most of their stay. My back yard is fenced with brick walk from side gate to deck with grass areas at raised bed and top deck. Sunny areas on decks and grad areas mid morning until mid afternoon.

I had to wait several hours before writing this review to be fair and not let my emotions when I picked up my dog influence the review. This is the second time ever using Rover, and the first time ever using Margie. The first time was awesome and I guess I had set the standard by Sid, who did an amazing job, but was not available. When I arrived, Margie was nice and welcoming. She didn't, however, interact with our dog. She went straight to the back door and instructed my granddaughter to put the dog down, and allow her to smell around in the backyard. I thought, okay, that makes sense. I asked if our dog would be walked? She said, "Oh no, I don't walk any dogs". I said, ok, she will get to run around outside. I didn't know until I arrived, Margie would be watching 7 dogs, at once like a kennel with her being the one staff person. If I had not had an out-of-town engagement, I would have walked away then. An aged woman is watching 7 dogs. I received no pics of my dog, no communication, other than me reaching out to her - once. It was a flatline response. She's doing fine (period). The dogs urinate and poop on the deck and she says she cleans the area. My dog, when picked up, had poop all on the sides of her body and down the front of her chest. OMG! I was livid! I had to find something to cover my car seats to transport her in that condition, and I had to bathe her. I will never use this border again. Never! Hats off to those who feel comfortable boarding their dogs this way. My dog drank 4 bowls of water, one right after the other. I had to stop giving her water in fear she was going to throw up. She was literally dehydrated from apparently not having water. I don't know if I can ever do Rover again! Borders should be clear about their interaction with your dogs and the number of dogs they are caring for at once. If I were looking for a dog pound, I would have searched for one.

Ms Margie was very warm and inviting. Although Brandi has never been boarded before, she's not used to being caged all day. Brandi showed no fear or anxiety.

Margie is great with my dogs, they had a fabulous time with her. I’ll use her again the next time I go out of town.
