Pet care experience

Dog-loving family home w/a big yard

I’m a second-year law student, wife, and mom of four boys. We all love dogs and dog-sit in lieu of getting our own pup (for now!). We play outside regularly in our walled grass/rock combo yard and are practiced at having four-legged guests at our house. - We have a designated dog seat in the living room, a huge doggy-door to the backyard, adjustable crate in our bedroom (XS-XL), bowls, brush, kong, and treats (common allergy friendly too if needed). - Have kids for attention/play time - Cement floors throughout our house for cool reprieve and easy clean up - Previous Weimaraner, Doodle, Poodle, and Golden Retriever owner - Regular dog sitter for friends - Able to give medication - Able to run/walk a dog 1-2x per day if desired - Generally energetic family

Kassie loved Maggie and her kids! They gave her lots of love and kept her entertained. She came home happy! I especially appreciated the hand written thank you card the kids wrote. We won't hesitate to use them again.

If I could give 6 stars, I would. I have been using Rover for 10 years and have had some very good sitters but Maggie and her family were really incredible. They kept my guy occupied and cared for the whole time. For some reason, he was a handful this time and they were extremely kind about it. I recommend them highly. Thanks

Schedule

During the school year, I attend law-school part-time while managing our kids’ after school needs which means I'm nearly always home during the work week! Please note that as of January 2026, I will be out of the house for an internship downtown from 7a - 4p for 2.5 days a week. My husband will be home some of the days I'm gone. My exact schedule is undecided as of 1/21/26. I am available to give your pup a 5 AM morning walk when they are an overnight guest. For daytime dogsitting, I walk the dog(s) at 8a and 12p when not in the office for the internship.

Safety, trust & environment

We have a walled backyard with both rocks and grass for your pup to play in and in general, we enjoy having dogs out-and-about during the day. We watch one small dog every weekday for 8-10hours during the school year and often have a second Bernedoodle puppy during the days when his owners are extra busy. They are accustomed to our home and are loose during the day since they get along and can both use the doggy-door.

A typical day

When I have a pup staying overnight, I skip my 6a yoga class and go for a long walk and run instead before the kids wake up. If I'm not in the office for my internship, I walk whichever dogs are home around 8a and again at 12p. I typically throw the ball or play tug-a-war with the dogs for brain breaks from classwork. The kids love to play with the pups when they're home from school every day and especially love overnight guests because the dogs help tuck them in and often get extra bedtime snuggles.

We cannot take any pups who are food, animal, or human aggressive. It is highly preferred your dog be crate trained or, at the very least, OK being on its own in the bathroom or laundry room for downtime without scratching or howling. As noted above: we watch a small dog every weekday for 8-10hours during the school year. We've had her with us since she was a puppy and she is super great with dogs of all sizes. Happy to accommodate any medicine, special diet adherence, and training reinforcement.
