Pet care experience

Large (one acre+) fenced in yard!

Dogs have always been a part of my life. My parents bred British Staffordshire Terriers when I was a small child, and we always had multiple dogs in our home. More recently I have raised and trained Jack Russell Terriers and Border Collies. I use clicker based positive training methods to teach dogs basic commands as well as some fun tricks:) I am a certified high school English teacher, but I left my public school teaching job a few years ago and now only work part time remotely. I love to hike, walk, and run so I can exercise your dog any way you prefer. We only have one dog right now, a young male border collie who is very friendly to other dogs and would appreciate a doggie friend. We can also keep the dogs separate if need be. Some notes on pricing: 1. Boarding: I charge $50 a night for boarding which = a 24 hour period. If you will need an additional 1/2 day, (up to 6 hours) it will be an additional $20. An additional 6 + hours is an additional $30. This only applies to stays of 2 nights or less. Any stay of over 3 nights and I allow for late pick-up or early drop off with no extra charge. 2. Day care: Daycare rates are for up to 10 hours of care. Above that is an additional $10 charge. 3. I offer an extended stay discount of 10% for any stay of one week or longer. For very long stays I can offer larger discounts. Contact me to discuss your specific situation. Some notes on dog size: I am open to taking dogs that are up to 60 pounds on a case by case basis. Contact me to discuss your situation.

House Sitting • sept. 16, 2022

Margaret has done dog sitting at my house multiple times already and I have already booked her for a future stay. I can highly recommend her. She exercises my very active puppy and looks well after my older guys and of course after the house too.

Margaret took good care of my dogs and home, just as usual. She exercised them and took them for vet appointments and had to deal with my naughty puppy who is still not 100% house trained. Thank you for the love, care and effort you put into looking after my five fur babies!

Doggy Day Care • avr. 17, 2022

Peg is wonderful! Stella is our first dog and we were apprehensive about leaving her with anyone. Out of the gate, Peg made us (all) feel so comfortable. With her fenced in yard, our pup LOVES to run around with Falco, Peg's dog. She sends us photos and videos which are so nice to receive throughout the day. We recommend Peg HIGHLY and have booked her again and again.

Margaret was the first person we’ve ever left our 1 year old dog with- and it could not have been a better first experience! Biscotti definitely has some separation anxiety and was clearly watched and cared for (maybe even better than we do so ourselves) the entire weekend! She also provided plenty of updates to keep me reassured. Their other dog is extremely sweet, and was a great play mate ever for our tiny toy poodle. Overall, this was a fantastic experience, great for both our pup and ourselves.

Peg was so great and gave us such peace of mind when we were away! She is very sweet, attentive and went above and beyond to make Nana comfortable and relaxed…including lots of play time! :) Can’t wait for Nana to visit Peg and family again soon!

Safety, trust & environment

I have over an acre of land fenced in, but would not leave your pet outside unattended. I only take more than one dog at a time if they are from the same family or if it is approved by both owners. We have one young male border collie who is friendly to other dogs, but we can also keep the dogs separate if need be, as I have two levels and some guest crates. All bedding is washed and the crate is sanitized between dog visits. I only use the crate if your dog is crate trained. I have a 12 year old son who loves dogs and loves throw a ball or just run around with them in the yard. There is also a fully enclosed chicken coop and run in our yard.

A typical day

Depending on a dogs needs, we can play fetch or frisbee, go on a hike or a run, or just go for a nice walk around the neighborhood.

1. Since I have a dog here, it is important to know if your dog is friendly with other dogs. 2. Please let me know if your dog is crate trained. I do have a crate in case the dogs must be kept separated, but I would only use it if your dog is comfortable with the crate. 3. Dogs must be up to date on vaccines, and should have some type of flea and tick prevention as I have a large yard. 4. Give me notice if your dog is not fully housebroken. I can still watch your dog. . . I just need to know so that I can try to keep accidents to a minimum. 5. Lastly please tell me what types of activities your dog enjoys . . . fetch, frisbee, long leashed walks . . . I want your dog to be happy during his or her visit! Please let me know if you have any special requests, if you have any concerns about your pup, or if he or she has any special needs.
