Safety, trust & environment
I will stick as closely as possible to existing major routines for your pet, but we can mix it up by going on new adventures. I enjoy hiking, swimming, and running: maybe your dog wants to come! I could even settle down and watch TV with a more sedate animal (nothing too scary, though…). I’ll do whatever needs doing: maintain training while you’re gone, groom pets, clean tanks or enclosures, and send plenty of updates so you know your pets are safe and happy.
Information Margaret H. would like to know about your pet
I’d love to hear about your pet’s favorite treats and activities! Is there any training to keep up with? Please also let me know about any quirks or medications to be taken.
A typical day
On a typical day, eating and medication schedules will be followed as usual— but that leaves a lot of time free for fun! When I think of a fun activity for your pet, I start with the classics. A walk in the woods with lots of stops for interesting smells is great for most dogs— or a run, for the more energetic. If your dog is a swimmer, so am I: we could visit the river. Other hits for almost any animal: an interesting object frozen in a block of ice, a laser pointer, a puzzle box, or a snack on a string.

Pets
Reliable and experienced petsitter.
Pet care experience
I’m experienced with everything from fish to puppies to brown bears (please don’t actually have a bear, though)! I have a masters degree in animal behavior, extensive animal training experience, and I’ve had my own pets since I was little. I’m comfortable caring for animals in all stages of life and administering their medication. I believe play and enrichment are important parts of an animal’s day, and I make sure any animal I’m watching gets to do things that are fun for them every day.
Reviews

She did a great job with our large dog. Really appreciated her check-ins and updates.

Margaret was able to help us last minute with house sitting for our dog, Bruin. She showed up when she said she was, she was great with updates & pictures and he was happy. We plan to use her again!

We contacted Meg to help us out on the day we moved into the area. Meg is great to work with and was very accommodating for our anxious dog. We will work with her again!

Meg was great! The cat's loved her. She sent updates and photos. We would definitely have her come again.
