Pet sitting and dog walking is my full time job during the winter. I take my time with other’s pets very seriously! I make myself available to spend as much time with your pets as needed. To secure a booking, I highly encourage pet parents to reach out sooner than later as I tend to book out weeks and even months in advance!

Information Margaret G. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your pet has any special needs or dietary accommodations. I have experience working with cats and dogs that require supplements and oral medication, however I am not yet comfortable providing intravenous meds (i.e. insulin, etc.). Knowing your pet’s habits (good and bad!) will help me provide better and more attentive care.

A typical day

I strive to match your pet’s routine as best as I can. This helps with pets who may be a little weary of strangers, who are normally anxious, and those that may experience separation anxiety. I take the time to create a relationship with your pet so they feel safe and start to view me as a trustworthy companion.

Pet care experience

Hi! I’m so excited you’re here 🐾 I’ve lived with animals my entire life—primarily cats and dogs—and caring for them isn’t just something I do, it’s who I am. Over the years, I’ve turned that lifelong love into hands-on professional experience across a wide range of animal care settings. I’ve worked in a doggy daycare and boarding facility with both small and large dog playgroups, so I’m confident managing different temperaments, energy levels, and pack dynamics. I’m experienced in reading body language, reinforcing positive behavior, and making sure every pup stays safe and happy in social settings. I’ve also worked with a traveling vaccination clinic for cats and dogs, at a non-profit animal shelter, and in an animal hospital as a veterinary assistant. In the hospital setting, I assisted with wellness exams and major surgeries, which gave me strong skills in animal handling, monitoring, medication support, and recognizing signs of stress or illness. Working in a shelter environment strengthened my ability to care for animals from a wide variety of backgrounds, including those who may be shy, fearful, or adjusting to new environments. Your pet’s safety and well-being will always be my top priority. Beyond clinical, shelter, and daycare work, I have years of private pet-sitting experience for families with: * Cats * Dogs * Rabbits * Chickens * Ducks * Goats I’m comfortable caring for multi-pet households and following detailed care instructions, whether that includes medications, special diets, senior care, or just maintaining your pet’s normal routine while you’re away. In addition, I’ve volunteered for years with wildlife conservation and rehabilitation organizations in the United States, South Africa, and Peru. That experience deepened my respect for animals of all kinds and strengthened my patience, attentiveness, and understanding of species-specific needs. I genuinely love animals—domestic and wild—and I would absolutely love to spend time with yours. Whether your pet needs long walks, playtime, cuddles, structured care, or just a calm and reassuring presence, I’m here for them (and for you!). I can’t wait to meet your furry, feathered, or hooved family members! 🐶🐱🦆🐐

Margaret was a phenomenal communicator from the start, sent updates and photos several times a day which put our minds at ease and truly allowed us to enjoy our time away. The house was left spotless and our dogs happy! We hope to be able to book her again!

Margaret was very attentive to our high maintenance kitty. She sent regular updates with pictures and videos, kept his schedule the same as when we are home, and when we came home the house was just as we left it. Couldn't ask for more.

Margaret is dedicated to the care of pets. She has a special bond with furry friends. She is responsible and kind. My dog and cat love it when she gives them extra time and attention. Your pets are in good hands with Margaret.
