I've grown up with and around dogs my whole life. I grew up surrounded by terriers, so I have no problem handling and appreciating a pup with a stubborn streak. When I was a kid, volunteering at the animal shelter, attending dog shows and obedience classes and rallies wasn't uncommon on the weekends (I even earned my junior handler award in confirmation!) While in college, I was dying to get a dog of my own, but wanted to make sure I could fully commit to the proper time and care a pet would need, so I tested the waters with a lot of dog sitting for my college professors and family friends. Dog sitting included home stays, drop in visits, administering of oral medications, play time, walks, jogs, etc. Now I am a proud dog mamma of my "chiweeagle" (chihuahua, dachshund beagle mix) Maizy (She's the sweetest little girl, very friendly with other dogs, loves hikes, making "zoomies" at the dog park and eating literally EVERYTHING) but don't worry, I've still got a lot of love to give!
