Availability
Over the summers I work full time at Dog Days in St. Paul, and I’m a student at St. Olaf over the school year. My work schedule isn’t the most predictable, but I’m generally available mornings and evenings after 6:30.

About Maren Z.
Communication
Dog skills
Safety, trust & environment
Dogs are basically furry children. They can’t communicate directly, so they resort to barking, growling, or even biting. I’m experienced in figuring out why a dog is acting out and calming them down before things get out of hand. What looks like “being annoying” is usually boredom, need for water, or anxiety!
Information Maren Z. would like to know about your pet
Does your dog prefer cuddles or play? Are they a leash puller? Are they friendly with new people, or do they need me to go slow and let them warm up? Are you okay with your dog jumping up/hugging, or should I reprimand them? Anything I should keep an eye out for?
A typical day
It all depends on the dog. If they like to play, I can run around with them and throw toys for as long as they want, provided they have plenty of water and the weather isn’t too bad. Other dogs just need affection and praise. I’ll try some tricks with your dog, take them on a nice walk, and give them plenty of pets once they’re tired out.

Big dog lover :) call me Rowan!
Pet care experience
(Rover requires legal names, but please call me Rowan!) I’ve been around dogs constantly since birth. There have only been a few years of my life without any dogs in the house! I work at a dog daycare full time over the summer, so I'm accustomed to both puppies and seniors of all sizes.
Cat care experience

Maren also cares for cats. Learn about their cat-specific care experience.
Reviews

Rowan was conscientious and asked lots of great questions in preparation for caring for our dogs! We got updated throughout the short time we were gone, which is always appreciated!

Maren was very attentive to our dog Maggie and 2 cats Luna and pip! She was not afraid to ask questions when she was unsure of what we wanted! Maggie was on multiple meds for allergies and Maren did a wonderful job making sure Maggie had them when was prescribed! They absolutely loved all the extra attention and Maggie loved her walks! We loved all the updates during our vacation! And she made sure all bedding was changed for us knowing we had a late flight home! We really appreciated her!
When Maren met my dog Willow, they were instantly connected. I felt so comfortable having Maren come into my house and gear up Willow for a walk. Maren is reliable and trustworthy and so wonderful with my dog. (My dog is 90 pounds so I was concerned it might be a lot for a new person, but Maren was comfortable and confident.) Can't recommend Maren and her service more!
