I am a WFH current federal employee working for US DOT. I am a returned Peace Corps Volunteer with prior experience as a Veterinary Technician. I've had dogs my whole life with a need to pet every dog I walk past on the street. I am a big runner and am always asking to borrow my friends' dogs for runs. I enjoying running, hiking, playing soccer and ultimate frisbee. I've been house sitting for friends and family members since I was 18. I'm responsible, clean and respectful. My main reason for joining Rover is simply because I love dogs and pets and want to spend more time around great animals. I can provide references on request. Maren was amazing! She watched our cat Bobo and it went really well! She was extremely helpful and she gave Bobo extra cuddles when Bobo needed it. We went definitely reach out to her again!

We’re delighted to have found Maren, who is definitely our top choice for the next time we need someone to watch our 12 year old lab-mix Asha and our house! Maren recently took care of Asha and our home while we were away for most of four days. Maren and Asha liked each other instantly, and they clearly enjoyed each other’s company. Maren listened well to our preferences about feeding Asha and giving medications, and made sure we were OK with taking Asha off the property for walks. After checking with us, she gave Asha some bones, and she even brought Asha a dog bed that was being given away by a neighbor! Maren has a very pleasant, upbeat, can-do personality, and was a pleasure to talk with. She collected our mail and newspaper while we were gone, and she left our house in immaculate condition, with a nice note for us when we returned. We highly recommend her for loving, competent care of your animal companions and also for watching your home!

Schedule
Caring for pets fits seamlessly into my work-from-home schedule by providing structure and balance to my day. Morning walks help me start the day energized and focused, while midday breaks for feeding, playtime, or quick walks give me a chance to reset and recharge. Having a dog around encourages me to step away from the screen regularly, which improves my productivity and well-being.

A typical day
It depends on the pets’ needs- either walks, playing fetch, cuddles, or a mix. I would want the owner to give an idea of likes and wants.
