I follow all protocols set forth by the humans! And I am intuitive with cats, so I'm generally able to read what they are needing, and provide it (within the agreed-upon parameters, of course: indoor cats stay inside, and no feedings or treats outside of what is allowed in the home.)

I tend to prefer staying with adult cats (3+ years) and always do my best to connect with them, so that we bond during my stay. I can administer simple medications, such as a substance to add to their food, but I'm generally not comfortable with pills or syringes.

I love interacting with cats, whether by just snuggling or by playing with them. I always follow their energy, engaging more when they want it, less when they want to chill by themselves.

I love cats! Since I arrived back in Portland, Oregon in September of 2022 after a year of train and bicycle travels around the US and Canada, I have been working as a full-time live-in cat sitter. I really enjoy connecting with the cats and taking care of them; it is always hard to say goodbye when it's time to move on! I have now begun traveling around the country again, from September 2025 until April 2026, and I would love to care for your kitties when I'm in your area!

This is the second time Maren sat for our kitties. She's consistently communicative, sends lots of pictures, and we came home to happy cats and a clean house. Thanks for taking care of Juniper and Cedar!
Maren was wonderful! She stayed with and took care of our two cats while we were out of town for a little over a week. She was very communicative and kept us informed the whole time we were gone! We came home to a clean house and happy kitties. Would definitely book again!
Maren is incredible. I hired her for a two week stay with my cat at my apartment while I went to Africa. I felt at ease knowing she was staying with my boy; and I was able to enjoy my vacation worry free. Maren knows a lot about animals and can anticipate their behaviors. She is kind, authentic, and experienced. She is thoughtful, and when I did have internet access there was an email from her with photos and positive updates about my boy. She is patient. I would hire her again in a heartbeat and encourage you to do the same!
Maren is a great cat and house sitter! She was friendly, conscientious and reliable throughout the process and stay. She sent me pics of our cat each morning, which gave me peace of mind, and kept our house super tidy and clean. Our cat Laszlo seemed content and happy (and well brushed!) when we returned. Definitely would recommend her services and hope to hire her again!
