We tend to go on a long walk in the morning (around 730) followed by breakfast. This is then followed by some engaging games and then a nap. We go for a few short walks to the local park during the day for toilet trips then a long walk in the afternoon (around 5). This is followed by dinner and more games before some living room cuddles then bed.

Dog loving couple

Pet care experience

Kathleen and I have both grown up with dogs our entire lives and have our very own lovey lad now. We've experienced a variety of breeds from Jack russels to Newfoundland and have developed the skills required to give the exceptional care these pets deserve. We have a english foxhound mix who loves to make friends with new dogs and welcome them into our house. Unfortunately he doesn't get along with flat faced dogs so we're unable to take on any booking of those breeds. We carry our own private dog sitting insurance for extra peace of mind on top of Rovers guarantee.

This was our first experience using Rover, and Marcus and Kathleen made it an exceptionally positive one from start to finish. Before booking, we met Marcus and his dog Bailey for a one-to-one introduction, which went incredibly well. Marcus was warm, reassuring, perceptive, and genuinely interested in getting to know our precious Puggle, Pippa. It was clear from the outset that he understands dogs and takes the time to learn about their individual personalities, routines, and needs. We also arranged a home visit before Pippa’s stay, which gave us a great opportunity to see the environment she would be staying in and where the dogs spend their time. As Pippa is very much a scent-driven Puggle, she loves investigating new surroundings, sniffing every corner, crack, and cranny as she settles into a new space. Being able to explore the house and garden beforehand, as well as meeting Kathleen, helped her feel comfortable and familiar with everything. Throughout Pippa’s stay, Marcus and Kathleen kept us regularly updated with messages and photos covering her daily walks, snoozing sessions, and overall demeanour. This was particularly appreciated during the heatwave that coincided with our holiday, as it gave us complete confidence that Pippa was comfortable, well cared for, and having her individual needs thoughtfully considered. Their communication was supportive, engaging, and exactly the kind of reassurance we would hope for from such well-rounded and experienced sitters. Throughout the whole process, Marcus and Kathleen were welcoming, professional, and clearly passionate about providing a safe, caring, and enjoyable environment for the dogs in their care. They gave us complete confidence that Pippa would be happy and well looked after. We would have no hesitation in recommending Marcus and Kathleen to other dog owners and would gladly trust them with Pippa again in the future. Five stars from both us and Pippa. 🐾

Marcus and his partner take really good care of Alfie. He is eager to go in as soon as he reaches their place and refuses to leave at pick up. We are also kept regularly updated. Thank you, Marcus.

This is the second time Marcus has looked after Bill (the first was daytime only). As before, everything went smoothly. We kept in touch with Marcus over the app, leading up to 'drop-off'. During the booking we were kept updated, including with pictures and videos. Reassuringly/disappointingly, Bill wasn't THAT happy to see me, when, after 24 hours, I picked him up! I'm very happy to recommend Marcus.

This was Bill’s first stay with Marcus. We’d had a preliminary ‘get to know you’ at the local park, where we met up with his dog, and all went well. So we dropped Bill off in the morning. If wasn’t long before Marcus sent us a video/photo update of the morning walk, the dogs having a play together, then Bill resting up. We picked Bill up in the evening; he’d taken it all in his stride. Couldn’t be happier with the service and we’ve already booked up again 🙂
