Pet care experience

The best love comes from a pet

I have always loved animals because they show us what unconditional love truly means. I’m a compassionate and attentive person who genuinely enjoys spending time with pets and making sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for. My background includes extensive experience in healthcare and medicine, as I was only one year away from becoming a physician. This has given me confidence in recognizing when something may be off with an animal’s health and experience with administering medications and providing attentive care. As a personal trainer, staying active is a big part of my daily life so taking dogs on walks and adventures is something I truly enjoy. I love having a furry companion join me for daily cardio, hikes, outdoor activities, and even pet-friendly outings like grabbing food or enjoying a sporting event. I’m an energetic person who loves creating fun experiences while giving pets the attention, exercise, and affection they deserve.

Marci truly went above and beyond, while caring for our dog. She kept me super updated and sent lots of photos & videos. She brought Sadie everywhere with her and really kept us in the loop which put me so at ease. At one point she took her to brunch with a dog bed and got her special food. She dealt with my anxiety kindly. She even did our laundry and dishes which was over the top nice. Highly recommend! We’ll for sure be using her again!

Marcie did a fantastic job looking after our cats and went far above and beyond taking care of them when one of them got sick after we'd left the country. She took Huey to the vet twice, administered medication, isolated him as needed while keeping him company, while making sure Slinky was well looked after as well. The boys love her as do we, and we hope to work with her again soon!

Schedule

Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I recently graduated with my MBA after completing my studies, and I currently work for myself as a personal trainer on a part-time basis. Because of my flexible schedule, I am home most of the day and able to provide your fur baby with plenty of attention, companionship, playtime, and care. My active lifestyle also allows me to incorporate walks, outdoor adventures, and exercise into my routine. Whether it’s a relaxing day at home, a neighborhood walk, or some extra playtime, I enjoy making sure pets feel happy, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away.

Safety, trust & environment

I provide a safe, loving, and comfortable environment where pets can feel at home. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs so I take the time to learn their habits, preferences, feeding schedule, exercise needs, and any special instructions from their owner. I am dependable, attentive, and communicate regularly with updates, photos, and messages so you can feel confident knowing your pet is receiving excellent care while you’re away. Whether caring for pets in my home or yours, I treat every animal like they are my own and make sure they receive plenty of love, attention, exercise, and companionship.

Pets

A typical day

I love creating fun experiences that match each pet’s personality, energy level, and preferences. For dogs, activities can include daily walks, hikes (when appropriate for their age, health, and fitness level), trips to the dog park, playing fetch, enrichment activities, and plenty of cuddle time while relaxing at home. For social dogs who enjoy outings, I love exploring pet-friendly places like breweries, outdoor patios, or watching a game together. I also enjoy making pets feel included and special, whether that means a fun adventure, a new toy, a favorite treat, or extra attention. If allowed by the owner, I’m happy to include special treats or meals that fit their routine. For cats, I create a fun and comfortable environment with plenty of toys, playtime, treats, and affection. I enjoy interactive play, bird watching videos, enrichment activities, and learning each cat’s unique personality whether they are playful and adventurous or prefer relaxing in a cozy spot. My goal is always to make pets feel happy, loved, and cared for while they’re away from their family.

Before caring for your pet, I like to learn as much as possible about their personality, routine, and specific needs so I can provide the best experience possible. Important details include their temperament around people and other animals, likes and dislikes, daily schedule, feeding routine, exercise needs, medications or health concerns, and emergency contact information. I also like to know their preferences and comforts such as where they like to sleep, whether they enjoy car rides, if they are comfortable around crowds or noisy environments, and whether treats, outings, or special activities are allowed. Please let me know any specific instructions, including water preferences (such as filtered water), favorite toys, calming techniques, and anything else that helps your pet feel safe and comfortable. For house sitting, I also like to clarify expectations ahead of time including how many hours per day you would like me to be present in the home, your pet’s normal routine, and any household guidelines you would like me to follow.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
