Safety and trust are extremely important to me. My veterinary medicine background has given me extensive experience recognizing changes in an animal's behavior, appetite, mobility, comfort, and overall well-being. I am comfortable following detailed care instructions, administering medications, caring for pets with special needs, and maintaining established routines. When caring for pets in a client's home, I respect both the pet's environment and the owner's home. I follow feeding schedules, walking routines, medication instructions, household rules, and any other preferences provided by the owner. I understand that every animal has a different personality and comfort level, so I take the time to allow pets to become comfortable with me rather than forcing interactions. I also believe communication is an important part of building trust with pet owners. I am happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pets are safe, comfortable, and receiving plenty of attention while you're away.

Mara is hands down the best dog sitter I've come across, especially for Loki, my 165lb Great Dane. Their bond is incredible, and Mara's reliability and communication skills are top-notch. She's honest and trustworthy, making her the perfect choice for pet owners looking for peace of mind. Mara's care for Loki is exceptional, making her the ultimate choice for anyone in need of a reliable and caring dog sitter. I am pretty sure Loki loves her more than Loki loves myself.
Mara consistently gets 5 “paws” from Finley (4 yo, 90lb Golden Retriever). Mara is responsive, attentive, reliable, and very loving-without being a sucker to an adorable, begging face (“please, can I have the entire strip of bacon?🥓🙏🏻🦮)! Mara has taken care of Finley while he had an injured / bandaged front paw. She was exceptionally caring, adhered to his medication schedule, and kept him stimulated while also minimizing his mobility to enable his paw to heal. That’s no easy feat! She’s also taken care of Finley post-injury - a.k.a. getting dragged through the neighborhood at 4.5 mph for twice-daily walks, chasing every bunny, squirrel and goose along the way, getting drooled on whenever there’s a whiff of food in the air, and covered in fur from all the snuggles. Mara’s a “go-to” for pet care. I can easily put more words here but it’s Finley’s thoughts that matter…he adores her and is always thrilled to see her!
Mara is my absolute favorite and our go-to dog sitter! It is always comforting to know that she is watching our pups when we are away. We recently took a 3 week international trip and everything went so smoothly. She is very experienced and can handle specific medical needs your pets may have. Three days before leaving one of our pups developed a hindlimb lameness and we were considering calling off our trip. However, she was confident she could care for Evee and she did a phenomenal job! We will always use her for dog-sitting in the future!
Mara has watched my sweet Stella a number of times and I could not recommend her more highly. Not only is she an animal lover; she has firsthand experience in caring for pets as a vet tech; and is great about communicating with me with lots of pictures and updates on how Stella was doing. I strongly prefer a private sitter versus a kennel or doggy daycare center and Mara has proven to be the perfect sitter for Stella and I will hire her again and again!

Schedule
I currently work remotely, which gives me a very flexible schedule and allows pet care to fit naturally into my daily routine. I am able to provide frequent potty breaks, walks, meals, playtime, medication administration, and plenty of attention throughout the day. Because I am home for much of the day, pets in my care are not routinely left alone for long periods of time. With 10 years of experience working in veterinary medicine and over 3 years of pet-sitting experience, caring for animals has been a major part of both my professional and personal life. Pet sitting allows me to continue working with and caring for animals outside of the veterinary hospital setting.

- The more I know about your pet beforehand, the better I can care for them! Before caring for your pet, I would like to know about their normal daily routine, feeding schedule, medications, medical conditions, allergies, activity level, and any special care instructions. It is also important for me to know about your pet's temperament and behavior, including how they interact with new people, other dogs or animals, whether they have any fears or triggers, separation anxiety, resource guarding, escape tendencies, or history of aggression or reactivity. Please also let me know about any little quirks that make your pet unique! Whether they have a favorite toy, a specific bedtime routine, a funny habit, or a certain way they like to be comforted, those details help me make their experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
