Rescue Volunteer w/Dog Experience
I've had a dog (weimaraner) for most of my childhood, he was my buddy. I have boarded dogs at my house (senior rottweiler, pug, aussie, pitbull, red heeler) and walked neighborhood dogs (lab, border collie, goldendoodle) multiple times over the past 5 years, from adolescent to senior. I currently volunteer at a dog rescue, mostly with the thrift store but also spending time with the dogs. I truly enjoy having dogs around, I am not able to have my own at the moment and so I enjoy the time I get with dogs in need and neighborhood pets.

I have known Mara for years and am thankful that she's in the neighborhood. She has taken care of our dogs many times, even staying in our home to watch our Lab while we vacationed. Schedule
I'm currently volunteering for 5 hours at a time, 2-3 days a week on Sunday and Monday, and I will be starting a job soon, so I will make sure to update my schedule once that is available to me.

Safety, trust & environment
I can spend time with your dog all day when available to provide company, pets, and throw a frisbee in the yard, but I am also very comfortable taking dogs on long walks. I am pretty good about reading dogs' mannerisms and trying to adapt my activity based on their personality. If I'm new to a dog, I will try and make sure I do something with them they love to earn their trust.
A typical day
I like to make sure a dog is comfortable and happy before we go on a walk, so if needed I will play with them before a walk to get some nervous energy out. After a walk I will spend time with them, petting them if they want, and chilling out. Sometimes I like to prepare puzzles and/or enrichment toys as a form of stimulation.
