I'm fortunate to work from home, which means I have plenty of time to dedicate to pet care. I'm a planner, so I like to schedule pet care activities into my daily routine, ensuring consistent attention to feeding, letting them out if you let them out, playtime and cuddles. My work from home setup allows me to be flexible and responsive to your pet's needs, providing a comfortable and attentive environment.

Safety, trust & environment

When cat sitting, my priority is creating a calm and stress free environment for your cat. I understand cats can be sensitive to change, so I focus on maintaining their routine as much as possible. When I first come into your home, I usually call your cat's name to see if they are about. I like to take the time to bond with them and make sure they are okay, spending some time playing with them to build trust. I follow your instructions carefully regarding feeding, litter box maintenance, playtime and any medications. I always make sure their food bowls are clean before and after each meal. If your cat enjoys going outside in the garden, I'm happy to accompany them for a walk. Before leaving, I ensure everything is locked up securely and put the post aside so it’s not in the way of the front door. I provide regular updates and photos, so you can see how your cat is doing while you're away. I believe in open communication and am always available to answer any questions you may have.

Information Manilyn G. would like to know about your pet

I like to schedule a meet and greet before caring for a cat (or cats) to ensure I have all important information noted, including their diet, medications and daily routine. It’s also a valuable opportunity to make sure they’re a great fit for me and that I’m a great fit for them.

A typical day

Morning: Arrive and greet the cat/cats provide fresh food and water, clean litter box, playtime with toys, administer medications if needed, check water and food. Evening: Final feeding, check water, a bit more play or cuddle time, secure the house and once everything is locked leave the house. Fun Activities: Interactive play with laser pointers, wands, and toy mice. Play with them using the toys they have. Provide catnip toys for added stimulation. Bring catnip toys as well. Gentle grooming sessions with a soft brush. Puzzle feeders for mental stimulation. Create cozy spaces with blankets and cushions for comfortable lounging.

Pet care experience

With years of experience in pet care, I understand the importance of providing a loving and attentive environment for your pets. Before caring for your cat, I do have a few requirements to ensure the best welfare and care are in place whilst you are away. I ask that we arrange a meet and greet beforehand so I can meet both you and your cat, as well as answer any questions either of us may have. This also allows me to ensure I am happy with the welfare and environment your cat will be in during my care. I also require details of your pet’s medical history and any existing medical conditions. This is important in case of emergencies or if medication needs to be administered whilst you are away. In addition, I ask for the details of the veterinary practice your pet is registered with, so I can act quickly in the event of an emergency. Please note that any veterinary costs incurred will remain the responsibility of the owner and not the pet sitter. Having experienced the emotional challenges of pet ownership firsthand, particularly during a difficult injury involving my own cat, Daisy, I understand how important it is to leave your pet with someone you trust. I am committed to providing reassurance, support, and understanding to fellow pet owners. Beyond cats, I also have a strong affinity for horses, with years of experience riding and working at a stable. I am knowledgeable in horse nutrition, safe handling techniques, and basic anatomy, and I understand the importance of calm, clear communication with animals. I guarantee a safe, loving, and attentive environment for your pets, treating them as if they were my own. Book with me and enjoy peace of mind knowing your pet will be happy, comfortable, and well cared for at home whilst you are away. Your cat will receive personalised care including feeding, playtime, medication administration (if required), litter tray cleaning, and plenty of attention and affection, ensuring they remain happy and stress-free whilst you are away.

Manilyn was brilliant. It was the first time we’ve used Rover and she was so reassuring, coming for a pre-visit so we could explain everything and sending such lovely drop-in photos and cards when she visited. 100% recommend and would book her again. 5 star!

Manilyn is a kind and caring person . She has had a love of animals since I have known her which is around eight years now and she shows them compassion. She has been commended in the past for her awareness and quick thinking in health and safety/emergency situations. Manilyn is outgoing, confident, encouraging and cheerful. I think she will do very well!
