I am an adjunct faculty at a nearby University and teach almost exclusively online. My schedule at home is pretty much that of a stay at home mom. My husband and I love to take long walks and have always in the past included our dogs.

We have a large home (2700 square ft) with no stairs. We have a large fenced in backyard and we do have an in ground pool. I always go outside with our dogs as I do not trust hawks and owls (especially with small breeds) and not all dogs are familiar with pools. I love to share my couch with pets to get extra cuddle time in. We allow dogs in every room of our home and invite smaller dogs into bed with us. Food and water is always available (except when an owner wants a specific schedule). Most of the home is wood floors with the exception of our living room.

My goal is to provide a place for your pet that is as similar as possible to your home and schedule. You are welcome to bring his/her favorite bed and toys. If your pet prefers to sleep in a crate (I know some dogs find this a place of security and routine) please bring that as well. If there are dietary needs please let me know.
A typical day
We are fortunate to have several close by trails systems to walk: Hitchcock Woods and Silver Bluff Auduban Center. There are miles of shaded walking trails which our dogs have always loved.

Pet care experience
I have owned dogs for over 34 years. Our dogs have ranged from Great Pyreneese and Grey Hounds down to 5 pound chihuahuas. Our last dog (Jack the teacup Chihuahua) lived until he was 18 years old. We decided it would be fun to help others board their beloved dogs as we had the privilege of using house sitters many times over the last 34 years.

Mandy was a great hostess to our Shelby. She is very flexible and accommodating. We had not left Shelby with a sitter for almost 2 years, so a bit anxious being in a new city. Mandy did a great job, sending regular pictures and updates. We felt very comfortable about Shelby's stay. I would definitely recommend Mandy if you are in need of a sitter. We will be calling on her again!
I cannot say enough good things about Mandy and how well she cared for our beloved - and spoiled - cat while we were away ! She is super-nice and clearly an animal lover ! We rec'd regular updates with photos while we were away, which is always reassuring....and it was clear from the start that Mr. Kitty was VERY comfortable with Mandy, from the day of our first 'meet and greet' through our weekend away. HIGHLY recommend !!
We’ve been searching for a sitter just like Mandy! She was prompt with communication and consistent with updates. She took wonderful care of our pup while we were out of town, and it was a relief to know that our pup was happy, safe, and having her own little vacation until we got back. We will definitely be boarding with Mandy again.
