Safe, Reliable Dog and Cat Person

• I have had cats since I was a child, and have not been without one since I was 22 years old! I thought I was a solid cat person, until I got my first dog 12 years ago! Now I love them both, and can connect with their different energies. I will take care of your family member as if they are my own. • My four dogs in the past decade have all been rescues, including a traumatized chi-weenie I patiently won over, and my most recent Mexican street dog who needed me to really push my skills to help him feel safe and comfortable in the world. I really had to learn how to get him connected to me, so he'd move through the world less reactively. I've done a lot of "treat retreat" practice. •I have recently helped two of my dogs in 'hospice', and to pass on, and know the attention needed for very old, sick and special needs dogs. My dog Loki was diabetic the last two years of his life, so I have skills at giving timed twice daily shots. He also had cancer and glaucoma, so I have experience giving medication and eye drops, and post-surgical care. He was a champ and loved life! • One of my dogs was a barky chihuahua so I am unfazed by the loud little ones! • I love all the many personalities of cats, and can play hard to get them exercise, and be patient with shy ones. I have nursed cats through surgeries, too, and given medication. • I am able to care for all your small animals. I have experience with fancy rats, guinea pigs and rabbits. I am happy to work with you for the care reptiles, chickens and birds. Please create a profile for all your pets per enclosure, and book as a 'cat'. •I do require a Meet and Greet for all new dog clients - for walks, drop-ins, and housesitting - so I can keep doggo and myself safe. So I may not be able to accommodate very last minute requests, if there is not enough time to schedule a Meet beforehand.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

• As a pet owner myself, my very first priority will be keeping them safe, double checking all doors, and making sure no one gets out, and that leashes and harnesses are secure. Please provide a harness for your dog, rather than just a collar. •As a homeowner, I also will insure that your home is secure. Please let me know if you need lights turned off and on, and mail brought in. •For Housesitting: • All pets I am providing care for need to be on the booking - please create a profile for each. • I will be at your home a majority of the time and overnight, except for stepping out 1-4 hours at a time. • High needs/anxious dogs will need to book several walks with me before I stay with them, so they will know me and feel safe.

Mandy walked our dogs for months and they absolutely loved her (they'd excitedly wait for her at the gate). Mandy made the logistics so easy, she was always on time, and she always left a detailed report.

Mandy is awesome. I have a cat that needs to be walked like a dog - seriously, he only "goes" outside, and Mandy accommodates this. he needs to be walked on his schedule, not yours, and Mandy sticks to the schedule. I trust her with my fur babies regularly and I'm so glad I do!! Overall a great communicator and trustworthy pet-sitter.

Mandy did an excellent job walking our pups! She arrived on time, harnessed them up, and sent a detailed report afterward.
