Pet care is a natural part of our daily life—this is a dog-loving home through and through! I’m always home, and my daughter also works from home full-time, so your dog will never be left alone. Between the two of us, there’s always someone around to give attention, supervision, walks, playtime in our secure garden, and plenty of cuddles. Caring for dogs isn’t just something we do—it’s woven into our everyday life. Whether it’s sticking to feeding routines, giving medication, or just relaxing together on the sofa, your pup will be treated like part of the family.

Information Man Chu Vickie W. would like to know about your pet

To give your dog the best possible care, I like to learn as much as I can before their stay. When you reach out, please include: • Your dog’s daily routine (feeding times, walk schedule, sleeping habits) • Temperament and energy level • Any special needs (medication, allergies, anxiety triggers, etc.) • How they do around other dogs—especially small breeds • Crate-trained or not (either is fine, just helpful to know) This helps me make sure their time here is smooth, comfortable, and tailored to them. We do have our resident pup, Bella—a 7-month-old chocolate and cream miniature dachshund. She’s calm, sweet, and very dog-savvy for her age. She gets along beautifully with other dogs and often helps new guests settle in. If your dog isn’t comfortable with other dogs, just let me know—we can discuss options. Meet & greets are welcome by request, especially for longer stays. I want you to feel completely confident leaving your pup with me. And lastly—please only reach out if you’re serious about booking. I put a lot of care into preparing for each dog, so last-minute cancellations or no-shows can be tough on everyone (pups included!).

A typical day

Our day starts at 7am with a morning potty break and a calm walk to get everyone moving. After breakfast, dogs can enjoy free time in our secure garden or relax indoors depending on their energy level. We do a longer afternoon walk for exercise and enrichment, and a shorter walk after dinner to wind down before bed. To keep your pup mentally stimulated, we include daily enrichment activities like puzzle feeders, training games, or interactive toys—including a fun selection of Japanese sniffy toys from my daughter-in-law’s pet boutique, St. Paws Café. It’s a great way to keep curious minds engaged and reduce boredom or anxiety. Of course, there’s plenty of cuddle time, rest, and one-on-one attention throughout the day. Whether your dog is playful and social or prefers a quiet corner and gentle company, we adjust to make them feel safe, happy, and at home.

Pet care experience

A Loving, Dog-Friendly Home with Decades of Experience Hi, I’m a lifelong dog person with decades of experience caring for dogs of all kinds—young, old, shy, lively, and everything in between. Dogs have always been part of my life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. My first dog was a Bearded Collie named Popeye. He was my childhood best friend. One day, while taking him to the groomer, I came across a Saint Bernard left abandoned outside the pet shop. I brought him home on the spot. That experience taught me how deeply dogs trust us—and how much they need us when they’ve got no one else. Later, when my daughter was little, we brought home a sweet little “松鼠狗” (Pekingese mix) that had been abandoned too. She became part of the family right away—my daughter’s first dog, and another reminder that dogs always find their way to us when we’re meant to help them. Now, I share my home with Bella, a rare chocolate and cream long-haired miniature dachshund who’s gentle, sociable, and calming with other dogs. And recently, we added another Popeye to the family—also a long-haired miniature dachshund. Yes, same name as my first dog, which feels beautifully full-circle. We keep a peaceful, dog-friendly home with a secure garden for safe outdoor time. I only take in a small number of dogs at once, so every pup gets one-on-one care, attention, and affection. Whether your dog needs a bit of extra patience, medication, enrichment, or just a comfy spot to relax—they’ll get it here. Dogs in our care are treated like part of the family. They’ll have a calm, loving environment where they can feel safe, relaxed, and genuinely cared for. This isn’t just dog sitting—it’s a second home.

Vickie took care of my whippet Snoop for a few days while I was travelling. She regularly updated me with photos of him enjoying himself at her home with her dogs. Snoop was clearly well looked after and had a lot of fun as he seemed sad when he was picked up to be taken back home! Highly recommend :)

Levi looked to have a great time, I received lots of photos of Levi on walks and relaxing with lots of toys and dogs to play with. Will certainly reach out when I need another sitter. Thanks for having him and providing a great week for Levi

Vickie has this really special way with dogs—it’s honestly impressive. She’s not just caring, she’s also super smart when it comes to training. The dog she’s been looking after now waits calmly in the hallway after walks to get her paws and bum wiped, all because of Vickie’s gentle consistency. You can tell the dog absolutely adores her and wants to be wherever Vickie is. She’s soft, calm, and totally gets dogs—probably because she’s been around them her whole life. If you’re looking for someone who truly connects with animals, Vickie’s the one.

Vickie is an exceptional pet caregiver with a genuine love for animals and a great eye for detail. Not only is she experienced and attentive, but she also offers light grooming if requested—brushing teeth daily, trimming paw hair, and making sure pets stay clean and comfortable. She even bakes her own chicken and oat biscuits, and is always mindful of allergies or sensitivities. Her calm, patient nature helps her bond quickly with dogs, and her dedication shows in everything she does.
