I am currently a part-time student at Santa Rosa junior college and have a very flexible schedule. My only time restrictions are class on Monday and Wednesday from around 1pm to 5pm and work part time as a respite caregiver on Tuesday and Thursday from 3pm to 5pm. Whether it’s checking on the animal throughout the day or spending the majority of my day with them, I always enjoy getting to know each different pet’s personality. So I have availabilities for drop in’s every day but less Mon.-Thu.. My Housesitting can be booked any time, as long as I can be away for somewhere between 4-8 hours when I’m going to class or work.

Safety, trust & environment

I have my own vehicle, which has a seatbelt with a carabiner hook for any type of harness. This enables me to take them to any necessary vet appointments, go on trips to the park or the beach, or evacuate safely if there were any kind of natural disaster. I also have multiple size crates that I can bring if your animal would feel safer in those. No matter what, I will make sure your pet is kept safe, healthy, and happy in their own home.

Information Mallory A. would like to know about your pet

The most important things to know ahead of time is any health needs and requirements, and most importantly if a long walk is needed, and if so, how long because if they need very frequent longer walks, I may not be able to provide that service due to health constraints. Another important thing to answer ahead of time on your profile is how your pet interacts with other animals. I have a service dog that is no longer needed full-time, but if the option is there I always appreciate being able to introduce her to your pets. bring her along now and then if your pet gets along with other dogs well. She’s a very calm submissive dog, so she won’t pose in any kind of threat in their eyes. That said, if you’d prefer I leave her home that is totally OK. I can work around it!

A typical day

Depending on their activity level and need for attention, I try to tailor activities specifically to each animal. For instance, for a low energy dog, I might get them outside to go for a short walk, letting them sniff around or possibly a dog park. I always like to ask ahead of time what type of toys they like to play with, if any, and any of their favorite things and activities. Going to the park or the beach or simply throwing a ball in the backyard can all be fun activities.

Pet care experience

I have over ten years experience pet sitting and housesitting for multiple species, including dogs, cats, and reptiles. I have a strong passion for animals of anll kinds and I find it an honor to care for other people’s. Having a rescue dog of my own at one point in my life, and volunteering at a therapeutic equestrian center has helped me learn how to gain an animal’s trust in a short amount of time, even the most wary. I also offer basic organizing and cleaning services in addition during a housesitting job. I have worked independently with trainers for my own dogs and helped to train my current service dog.

Mallory was a wonderful and caring sitter for our dog. She was warm and friendly from our first meeting and followed instructions well. Our dog had an upset stomach and vomited while she was sitting, but she was so nice to launder the soiled blanket, and wasn't phased at all. We got text updates while away, which was greatly appreciated. She really likes animals and it shows, and our dog made a new friend! I would definitely recommend Mallory, and I hope to hire her again.
