Whether your pet is staying in my home or I’m caring for them in yours, I focus on creating a calm, loving, and safe environment. In my home, pets have plenty of space to relax, access to fresh water, regular walks, and playtime. I follow their usual routines as closely as possible including feeding times, crate training (if needed), and any special instructions you provide. My cat is fully spayed, friendly, and used to being around other animals. If I’m staying in your home, I treat it with respect and keep everything clean and tidy. I make sure your pet feels comfortable, sticking to their routine, giving them plenty of companionship, and updating you with regular photos and messages so you know they’re happy and in good hands.

Before caring for your pet, I like to know their routine, energy level, personality, and any special needs. It’s helpful to know if they’re crate-trained, have separation anxiety, medical conditions, allergies, or any behaviors to watch for (like chewing, barking, or pulling on the leash). I also want to know how they do around other pets, people, or children, and if there are any triggers (like loud noises or certain dogs). The more I know, the better I can make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and comfortable while you’re away!

Depending on your pet’s personality and energy level, we’ll go for walks, play fetch, tug-of-war, or enjoy some outdoor time if there’s a yard or pet-friendly park nearby. For more laid-back pets, we can relax with belly rubs, gentle play, or cuddle time. If your pet enjoys mental stimulation, I’ll incorporate treat puzzles, training games, or enrichment toys (with your permission). I always tailor the fun to what your pet enjoys most so they feel loved and entertained while you’re away!

Hi there! I’m Malia — an animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats. I grew up with two dogs and started walking and pet-sitting for neighbors at a young age. While living in New York City, I regularly boarded dogs in both my home and theirs, and I absolutely loved it. I currently live with my sweet, spayed cat who’s very friendly and used to being around other animals. Whether it’s dog walking, drop-ins, or overnight stays, I truly enjoy every moment spent with pets. It never feels like work — being around animals just makes me happy! Your pet’s comfort and safety are my top priority. I’ll treat them like family, provide lots of love and playtime, and keep you updated with photos and notes. Can’t wait to meet your furry friend!

Malia made sure to send us updates on our boys while we were out of the country and it eased our minds to know they were happy and well taken care of! Our boys seem to have a great time with Malia and we came back to happy pups!!

Before the visit, Malia was great at communicating with me and did a meet and greet.. and she seemed awesome! Overall during the sitting though, it felt nerve racking due to a few things. I left direct instructions (my cat has an auto feeder, so doesn’t need fed outside of that) and in one of the photos there was a full bowl of wet food - which was not even mentioned on the instructions and was at the very bottom of my pantry in a box. My cat has very bad stomach issues and so I have to regulate any food outside of her auto feeder, therefore why it was not in the instructions. Also, she was at my apartment until 3:30 am one night because she was locked out of her apartment and she did not let me know until the next day that she was there that late - we agreed earlier that she would leave later and come back in the morning. She was also a few hours late in the morning to the time we discussed. Nothing Malia did seemed intentional but definitely made me feel uneasy, due to lack of following directions and poor communication.
