I work at the mountain as a ski patroller in the winters and in the summer I work as a bartender at a lake front restaurant in Lake Tahoe. I would love to fill that time with a furry friend to go on adventures or be cozy inside with. I have lived in tahoe year round for 5 years now and I would love to share my time here with a companion!

I live in Truckee, CA in a house with a large fully fenced in back yard. It has been fully dog proofed for my dogs there is plenty of room to run around, play fetch or have a good doggy play date. I live in Sierra Meadows with quick access to a variety of hiking trails. I will take care for your pet as if they were my own giving them lots of cuddles and endless belly rubs.

Information Malea J. would like to know about your pet
It is important for me to know ahead of time if the dog is reactive to anything, dog friendly, shy or timid of strangers entering the home. It’s also important to me that I know what the dogs usual at home rules are ie. sleeping in the bed or if they are allowed on the couch. I also want to know things that the pet enjoys ie. are they a water dog and love going to the beach or if they have a favorite toy to play fetch with!
A typical day
I love being outside! I would love to take the dog everywhere I go with me out whether it’s about on a nice hike in the forrest or along the beach where they can swim in the water.

I’ve had a passion for animals my whole life and grew up with a wide variety of pets. I am currently a ski patroller in Lake Tahoe now and I am part of our mountains search and rescue avalanche dog team. I have been a second handler for numerous of our dogs over the years training them in search and rescue and obedience. I also have grown up fostering dogs from older dogs to pregnant mama dogs with puppies. I have done it all and my passion is just being around animals!

Malea was fantastic! We got picture updates, which put our minds at ease, and it was clear our dog was having the best time with her. Malea was auper communicative. She kept us in the loop without us ever having to ask. She was on time, reliable, and took incredible care of both our pet and our house and we came back to the happiest, most relaxed pup ever. Will definitely be using Malea every time we go out of town from now on!
We are RV traveling and needed day care for our dog, so we could go on a raft float. Malia agreed to entertain our dog for the day. Moka had a blast with her two dogs and even went on a long hike. Thank you Malia! We will be back next summer.
Malea was amazing over two days with our husky. She took him on different hikes and sent photos throughout the day of how much fun he was having. We will definitely reach out to her for future needs when in Tahoe.
Malea walked my two energetic labs while I was visiting the area from out of town. She was super responsive, very comfortable with my big dogs, and I felt very confident leaving them knowing they’d be well taken care of.
