Professional dog handler
I’ve had a passion for animals my whole life and grew up with a wide variety of pets. I am currently a ski patroller in Lake Tahoe now and I am part of our mountains search and rescue avalanche dog team. I have been a second handler for numerous of our dogs over the years training them in search and rescue and obedience. I also have grown up fostering dogs from older dogs to pregnant mama dogs with puppies. I have done it all and my passion is just being around animals!

Malea walked my two energetic labs while I was visiting the area from out of town. She was super responsive, very comfortable with my big dogs, and I felt very confident leaving them knowing they’d be well taken care of.
Malea is the best! Our pup was very well looked after and he had a ton of fun playing with Malea’s dogs. Our pup was nursing a little injury BEFORE we dropped him to Malea and she was very intentional about checking in with us as it healed up. She treated our pup like her own. Will definitely be using her again. Her fenced in back yard is worth the price of admission on its own!

Malea was amazing! We dropped our 1 year old golden retriever off for the day and had no idea the adventure he'd go on! We got amazing pictures and videos all day and he came back to us so happy and tired. He got along great with Malea's dogs even though he tends to be a bit shy with other dogs. He'll be back soon!
Malea is wonderful! She communicates well and is reliable. She kept us updated the entire time with photos and videos and maps of walk. She obviously understands dog behavior and respond to dogs’ needs. Her dog Ripp is amazing and our dog Georgia loved the playmate. I highly recommend Malea. She will treat your dog like her own. Georgia came home happy and tired:)
Malea was an excellent communicator and kept me updated with photos throughout the day. My dog is usually shy around new people, but she warmed up to Malea immediately and was excited to return the next day! I felt completely at ease leaving my dog in Malea’s care.

Schedule
I work at the mountain as a ski patroller in the winters and in the summer I work as a bartender at a lake front restaurant in Lake Tahoe. I would love to fill that time with a furry friend to go on adventures or be cozy inside with. I have lived in tahoe year round for 5 years now and I would love to share my time here with a companion!

Safety, trust & environment
I live in Truckee, CA in a house with a large fully fenced in back yard. It has been fully dog proofed for my dogs there is plenty of room to run around, play fetch or have a good doggy play date. I live in Sierra Meadows with quick access to a variety of hiking trails. I will take care for your pet as if they were my own giving them lots of cuddles and endless belly rubs.

A typical day
I love being outside! I would love to take the dog everywhere I go with me out whether it’s about on a nice hike in the forrest or along the beach where they can swim in the water.
