Pet care experience

Fenced yard and flexible schedule

I’ve been around animals my entire life and currently have a friendly 4-year-old Lab mix named Maverick. I also volunteer with local animal shelters, giving me experience with dogs of different ages, sizes, energy levels, and personalities. As a medical student, I’m used to staying organized, following detailed instructions, and paying close attention to routines and behavior. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, and I take that responsibility seriously. Whether your dog needs lots of exercise, extra patience, medication, or just a comfortable place to relax, I’m happy to tailor their care to their individual needs

We appreciated that Mal spent ample time with our dogs and honored their feeding and break schedule. We received regular communication and pictures so we knew they were doing well while we were away.

Our dogs are very comfortable with Mal. So that is reassuring when we are out of town. She is also very accommodating with last minute trips

Mal did a great job taking care of my senior dog. She provided daily updates on his temperament and sent pictures! Mal also was successful in giving my dog his oral medication each day (which is not an easy task). I would recommend her to anyone!

Our dogs can be very skittish and they loved Mal. Great with giving medicine and special dietary instructions. 10/10 recommend

Schedule

I’m currently a medical student, and much of my coursework can be completed from home. This gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to spend plenty of time with the pets in my care throughout the day. While my schedule varies slightly week to week, I’m generally available for frequent potty breaks, walks, playtime, meals, and plenty of companionship. I make every effort to keep your pet’s routine as consistent as possible while you’re away. For house sitting, I do have one requirement during the school year. I have my own friendly 4-year-old Lab mix, Maverick, who would need to come with me. He’s well socialized and enjoys other dogs, but I completely understand that this isn’t the right fit for every home. If your dog enjoys having a canine companion, I’d love to discuss whether it would be a good match during a meet and greet.

Safety, trust & environment

Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a fully fenced backyard for safe outdoor play and exercise, and I only board one guest dog at a time so they receive plenty of individual attention. I also have a friendly 4-year-old Lab mix who enjoys other dogs when it’s a good fit. I always take introductions slowly and make sure both dogs are comfortable before allowing interactions. I’m happy to accommodate specific feeding schedules, medications, crate routines, and any other instructions that help your pet feel at home.

Pets

A typical day

A typical day includes plenty of outdoor time, walks, play sessions, enrichment, and relaxation. My dog and I usually start the day with a walk or backyard playtime, and because I often study from home, pets are rarely left alone for long periods. For active dogs, I’m happy to provide extra exercise, walks, and games. For lower-energy dogs, I’m just as happy spending the day relaxing with them and keeping them company. Every dog is different, and I adjust their day to match their personality and needs.
