I do pet care full time! I took the last couple months away from work for health reasons, but I’m easing back into it. My schedule is pretty flexible!

Information Makenzie M. would like to know about your pet
What are their likes and dislikes? I always want to stay as consistent as possible, so let me know what is expected of them usually. Do they have any medical conditions? How are they best motivated? What are their favorite games and pastimes?
A typical day
I’ll try to stick as closely to their routine as possible, while adding fun new experiences. For dogs: I love to play games to keep their focus. Scattering treats, and taking new routes will be sure to wear them out! For cats: I know they can be finicky, I’ll take it at their pace! Other things I can do: 🐾Brush/blowout - I have brushes and a force dryer! 🐾Bath and blow dry - I can do in-your-home. I do NOT provide soap/conditioner, but I do have brushes and dryer! 🐾Nail trim - I have clippers and diamond bit dremel/grinder. I’m happy to work through with difficult dogs depending on their needs. I also offer alternatives to standard nail trims! 🐾Ear cleaning - I do not provide wipes/supplies. 🐾Grooming desensitization - I can introduce grooming to your pup in a new way, at their pace.

Pet care experience
🐾I also offer basic grooming! Why my pet-care stands out: As far as I can remember, I’ve always had a sort of “sixth sense” with animals - especially dogs. Their body language and communication have always been fluent to me, and I picked up on other animals quickly as my career grew. I’m the family/friend who’s the go-to for behavior/training tips, grooming, and overall dog knowledge! For me, when it comes to animals, everything boils down to proper communication and building a healthy, safe and understanding friendship with them. Animals are complex, and there’s so much more to them than meets the eye. One of my favorite things is building relationships with “difficult” animals over time, understanding them, and helping their owners understand in the process. I recently worked for 6 months doing 25-100 nail trims per workday on every type of dog you can imagine. I had many repeat clients who had been denied by many trainers, groomers, and even vets. Some were able to wean off calming meds over time, and rebuild their understanding of what a nail trim needs to be. I’ve worked with difficult dogs (and cats) in so many contexts and situations over the years - I’m willing to tackle just about anything! I love bringing light to and addressing the root of the problem - not just temporary fixes. I’ve had dogs my whole life, and I always knew they’d be vastly important to me. At 16 I started training my Lab, Bear, and it took off from there. I worked at a corporate daycare moving up to the manager position over around 3 years. I did grooming, dog introductions, yard management with up to 25 dogs, overseeing all care, medication administration, reception, marketing, etc. When I was around 19, I started working for a well known trainer/sitter and friend in the snohomish area. I learned how to approach more difficult training cases, manage a small business, and interact with all sorts of dog personalities. I did walking and Housesitting, as well as 1-on-1 dog training. I tackled reactivity, impulse control, leash manners, off leash obedience, behavior modification, and more. After stepping away from training for a bit to expand my experience, I worked for a grooming company for about 6 months doing nail trims, anal gland expression, and ear cleaning. I worked with LOTS of dogs who hadn’t ever had a successful nail trim, desensitized regulars, and introduced puppies in a playful way. I ended up leaving and taking time away from work entirely to focus on my health. I’m starting to get back into the groove of things!

Mackenzie is a wonderful pet sitter. She does a great job taking the time to bond with our pets, cares deeply for their wellbeing, and communicates well! We came home to happy loved pets! Cheers.

Makenzie is an absolute delight! She is the best pet sitter we’ve had! She communicates well, and even calls right away in the event of an emergency. She is so sweet with our kitties and sends lovely pics and updates. Highly highly recommend her! Would definitely book her again. 😊
Makenzie is awesome! She took amazing care of our dog. Sent plenty of pictures. We will definitely use her again.

Makenzie was such a great help and she was amazing with our little puppy. She gave her a lot of training and exercise and she was ready for a nap every time. She is so knowledgeable about dogs and even our cats liked her too. We definitely recommend her and our puppy can't wait to be sitted by her again.
