I work full-time from home. Meaning I will always be home with and monitoring your pet(s) during my work day. I take my dog on walks every morning and evening at Longview or Queeny.

I have a very clean, safe, and peaceful apartment with a nice big deck - that my dog loves to sunbathe or people-watch on throughout the day. Unfortunately, I do not have a fenced in yard but there is a small fenced in dog park in my neighborhood that is rarely used by other dogs. I take my high-energy dog on two long walks a day (morning and night) with potty breaks around the neighborhood in between, so lots of walks are already a part of our daily routine. My dog is very gentle and submissive. Your fur baby will feel right at home with us!

A typical day
My day to day routine already involves a long walk in the morning and a long walk in the evening with my dog Bear. We love Longview and Queeny! I let my dogs sniff as much as they want, which helps stimulate their minds and get their energy out. At home the dogs can play and chew on toys, but most of the time are so tuckered out from the walks that they nap.

I’ve raised/trained my rescue pup Bear on my own from when he was 13 weeks old and now he is 6. And I’ve been around animals my whole life. I recently did I private group animal training session with Cesar Millan at his Dog Psychology Center. I also have volunteered at Wild Bird Rehab many times. Both Bear and I love having more pet company in the home. I’ve always had a deep love for animals - I’m so excited to meet your pet(s) and get to know their fun personalities and quirks! 💙

Truly incredible ❤️ We needed a last-minute sitter for a 1.5 week trip. Makena was miraculously available and ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. It’s always a little scary leaving your dog with someone you don’t know, but we did a quick meet and greet ahead of time and then Makena was amazing about sending photos and videos with quick updates over the course of the stay. Our dog was so well cared for and clearly felt loved and cozy in Makena’s home. I’m so so grateful and so sad this was our first and last time with Makena given we’re moving out of state soon. Any and every dog who gets to spend time with her (and her incredibly sweet dog, Bear) is so lucky! Our girl can be super anxious and shy but felt right at home from the very first day. Makena is awesome ❤️
We are happy repeat customers of Makena, but do not book with her because we trust her so much and we want to keep her to ourselves ;) ! She has taken good care of our favorite "daughter" in every single time she has stayed with Makena...and having Bear is a plus! It's like having another mom and a big brother to keep her company! She has a very calming, comfortable personality and yet very professional. Our "daughter" had some health issues when we left for vacation recently, but we knew that her medications will be administered on a timely manner. The reason we picked her up 1 day early on our recent boarding was due to our mistake on when our flight was arriving, and we missed her soo much! We are thankful of her! In short, Makena deserves more than 5 stars!!!
I recently boarded Mimi with Makena, and it was a fantastic experience! Mimi had a wonderful time under Makena’s care, especially with her furry companion, Bear. Makena also sent us lots of photos, which kept us well-informed and assured of Mimi’s well-being throughout the stay. Highly recommended!!!
There are few people I’d rather leave my border collie/ aussie puppy Afina with than Makena. Afina is a high energy dog and requires expert care. She always looks forward to her time with Makena and is overjoyed to see her. She doesn’t want to leave when I take her home! But when she’s returned to me she is happy, healthy and ready for a good nap. Makena is professional, caring, attentive, nurturing and strong. She has the calm confidence and natural ability to handle any dog. We love Makena and couldn’t recommend her more highly!!!
