Hi! I’m Makena, and I’ve been caring for pets—both my own family’s and friends’—for over 15 years. I love spending time with animals of all kinds, making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. I currently work part-time about 20 minutes from home, which gives me flexibility to provide weekday afternoon and evening care, as well as weekend visits. I offer drop-ins (multiple times per day if needed) and daily walks ranging from 30 to 60 minutes. Whether it’s feeding, playing, or giving lots of cuddles, I treat every pet like they’re part of my own family. I’d love to meet your furry friends and make sure they’re happy, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away at work or vacation!

Before I take care of your pet, I love getting a few details so I can make them feel safe and happy. Things like their daily routine—meals, walks, playtime, and naps—any medications or special care, favorite toys or ways they like to be comforted, and any behavior quirks or house rules. I also like to have emergency contacts and vet info just in case. Knowing these things helps me give your furry friend the best care and lots of love while you’re away at work or vacation.
A typical day
A typical day with me is all about keeping your pet happy, comfy, and loved! We’ll start with a hello full of pets and cuddles, then fresh food and water. If it’s walk time, we’ll go on a 30–60 minute adventure with plenty of sniffing and exploring. During drop-ins, I’ll play, give belly rubs, and stick to their usual routine—meals, meds, and all. My goal is to make sure your furry friend feels safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away, so you can relax knowing they’re in good hands.

I recently had surgery and cannot bring Lexi for a walk. It was great to find a trustworthy person to help out. Makena was on time. She was enthusiastic about caring for Lexi and taking her for a nice walk. She stuck to the allotted time and returned a happy doggo back to me. I appreciate that she kept track of doing her business and was able to give feedback as to how well Lexi did in attending to walk commands as we have been working on getting her to be less distracted by squirrels and other smells. I also liked seeing a picture of Lexi when they were on their walk. We would be happy to have Makena take care of Lexi in the future.
