I am a professional dog trainer and business owner of Precision K9 Pet Care and Training. I have extensive experience in canine behavior, with a specialized focus on large breeds and working dogs. I actively participate in advanced competitive dog sports that require a high level of handler skill, precision obedience, and an in depth understanding of working dog genetics and drive. My professional training background in these sports directly informs how I manage, handle, and care for dogs in my care. Working dogs are intelligent, powerful, and purposeful by nature, and they thrive under structured leadership, clear communication, and knowledgeable handling all of standards I maintain consistently with dogs in my care. What sets me apart from other rover providers or commercial boarding facilities is my professional training foundation, structured care model, and individualized approach that allows me to build personal rapport with each of my clients- all from the comfort of a low stress home environment! Structured care means your dog follows a balanced daily routine that caters to both their mental and physical needs, tailored to their temperament, energy level, and training background. If you are interested in inquiring on obedience training or behavioral modification training, this additional service can be discussed by sending me a message! Every dog has their own unique character and breed specific needs in order to properly fulfill them. A few activities include during pups stays are trail walks through Azaadiikaa park or other nearby trails, enrichment games at feeding time, multiple loose leash sniff walks, outdoor small group socialization or 1 on 1 yard play-complete with plenty of love and attention! Additionally, I have a few unique activities to offer such as an interactive doggie splash pad for hot days, flirt pole toy for dogs that love to chase and tug and a dog slat mill that allows dogs to run as fast or slow as they want and safely stop on their own. Booking notices: Service pricing serves as a base price and is per pet. Please note clients that require a commute, more attentive or precautionary care for their dog are subject to additional costs or price modificatios. Puppy rate, intact dogs and Behavioral rate starts at 60.00. Behavioral rate is included but not limited to human and or dog aggression, resource guarding, reactivity and behavioral anxiety. I offer transportation as an additional service for dogs upon request. Pick up and drop off is any time between 8am-8pm with a maximum of an hour range. Boarding pick ups scheduled after 12pm will be charged for day time care at the daycare rate of 40.00. Additionally, boarding pick ups at or between 7pm-8pm will be charged at nightly rate. Booking requests less than 48 hours in advance may have additional cost. House sitting requests: Housesitting requests consist of in home care according to your provided detailed schedule. I do not sleep over night in clients homes and it is clients responsibility to thoroughly read my profile or ask additional questions in understanding services limitations. Clients that are more than a 20 minute commute distance will have additional commute fee based on their location.

I selected Makalya because of her familiarity with large dogs. It is evident she knows and well understands working breeds. I am leaving this review because she is very strict on times, and given we were coming from out of town, that lack of flexibility did not work for us. Also, she had me sign a separate contract upon arrival, and did not provide me with a copy. It seems better to send pet parents additional materials ahead of time so they can read and download the documents. She also charged more than what was promoted through Rover.
She was amazing! Highly recommend!!
Makayla was great with our two dogs. She was able to accommodate one of their loves for other dog friends and one of their preference for no new dog friends. They were happy and well cared for and she was able to get us in last minute.
Makayla accepted our booking at the last minute after our primary sitter had a family emergency. She was extremely professional and runs a tight ship, which was confronting for us. Her updates of pictures and videos reassured us that our fur baby was in great hands.

Our dog can be a little shy and reserved when meeting other dogs, and Makayla did an amazing job integrating him! You could see in pictures and videos we received that he was having a blast and getting excellent socialization in a supportive environment. It's really important for us that he banks positive experiences like this, and Makayla went above and beyond!!

Schedule
I am a full time professional dog trainer and pet care provider. My day revolves around providing adequate physical and mental stimulation to dogs in my care and training sessions with clients. I am typically home throughout the day with the exception of errands or training sessions or in home care visits. As I operate as a business entity, I have an assistant name Megan who helps out with overall operation such as pick up/drop off, paper work and daily care for client dogs.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety is always first with clients dogs. I accept all dogs and have experience with reactivity, dog/mild human aggression, behavioral anxiety, physical and neurological special needs. I require all clients to fill out a short questionnaire that helps me get to know their dog more and ensure any extra safety precautions or additional care that may need to be in place. All clients are required to sign off on a health and safety agreement at drop off. For all dogs that participate in group play, each dog is evaluated and matched with dogs that are complementary to their character and energy level. These extra steps ensure adequate safety and great experience for both dog and pet parents. I have multiple rooms dedicated to the dogs and to separate dogs if needed. in addition to free roaming and access to training area for additional space for indoor play. If your dog is not dog friendly/selective or has other temperamental concerns, this method is modified to a rotation.

A typical day
Structured care means dogs have a day packed with activities that caters to your dog’s biological need for mental and physical stimulation. Client dogs will have multiple trips outside for outdoor play, loose leash sniff walks or trail walks in addition to enrichment activities like puzzles, sniff/lick mats and other positive only training games. I hone in on what activities your dog enjoys the most! I will also implement any specific care instructions that are given by owner.
