Pets are family!
For a year I worked for a home kennel/breeder and managed approximately 13 adult dogs on each shift. Some adult dog care duties included: preparing food, walks, bathroom breaks/outdoor playtime, indoor playtime, some training exercises, and occasionally giving medications. When the dogs had their puppies I would also care for the puppies on the same shifts. Puppy care included: feeding, cleaning of the whelping boxes, potty training and outdoor playtime, sometimes cleaning up the pups themselves when they got a little messy. In addition to these tasks extra care would be given to the momma dogs. Overall I also had cleaning responsibilities such as vacuuming, mopping, dishes, and laundry. Additionally, over the past 3 years I have sat for approximately 5 families. I provide sitting services and boarding services, but generally prefer boarding as it feels better and sometimes safer to be in my own home. I have a fair amount of experience with reactive dogs (on-leash reactive and off-leash reactive) and am comfortable with dogs who have high anxiety. Safety, trust & environment
I do not have a backyard in my home so I take dogs for walks. I live in Swampscott so it’s either a walk by the beach or, for more reactive dogs who need less people/dogs/noise/distraction it’s a walk to the park up the street where I can do some training. I’m the only person in my home so there are no other variables to consider for safety in that way. I am very responsible when it comes to pet care. I only give pets food or treats that are provided by parents to make sure they stick to their regular diet. If something comes up I’m quick to text and keep parents informed of any issues and discuss options on how to resolve issues. For example, I’ve sat a couple of dogs before who’ve had some tummy troubles and after texting with parents we decided the pet would need rice and chicken for their next couple of meals and managed those changes just fine.

Makayla was a great sitter and Oz really warmed up to her quickly. She checked in with me all the time and sent pictures everyday, which showed me how happy Oz was. She followed my instructions perfectly and left the house tidy when she left. I will definitely ask her to watch Oz again!
Makayla did an awesome job jumping in last minute to sit our 2 dogs of which one was a rescue puppy we got only a week prior. We didn't have an opportunity to train the new puppy to stay home alone and she stayed with them the entire time until we came back home. We will definitely book Makayla again!
Makayla is always terrific. Great with our pets. Treats our home perfectly. We always feel good leaving our home and animals in her care.
Makayla was terrific, as always. Takes perfect care of our house and even better care of our pet. She sends just the right number of updates and includes adorable pictures she takes of her fun time with our pup. We always feel incredibly comfortable leaving our animals in her care. I can’t recommend her highly enough.
Makayla took such great care of Loki while we were out of town for 4th of July. We were so nervous about the fireworks but Makayla stayed with him and kept him nice and calm. We got lots of pictures while we were gone too which makes leaving a little easier! Thank you again Makayla!
Makayla was really great watching our 2 pups and cat! She was communicative, respectful and left our house in great shape! We’re so happy to have met her and look forward to having her sit for us again!!

Schedule
I work remotely from home so I am pretty much always available to dog sit/board and would be able to be with your pet 24/7 while you are away. It’s very rare that I leave pets alone while I sit as it gives me peace of mind to be with them, so at max I usually only leave for an hour or two if I have errands to run.

- It’s very important for me to know if your dog has any reactivity either in a home that can be noisy or if they are reactive on leash during walks. I live in a busy area, that can also be very quiet depending on the side of the street and the walk direction we take. So I like to adjust my walks to meet your dogs level of social interaction they can withstand. This helps keep the walk safe and fun for all.
