I’m a part time student, meaning many days of the week I am working. Finding full time work is hard, so Rover has been an amazing opportunity to interact with animals that make my day, while sustaining myself. Drop in visits work well for me because I function best morning/evening (to avoid the heat). Also, afternoon visits give me a good study break.

Regarding walks, I have experience with canine behavior and high level obedience dog training. I have worked with aggressive, outgoing, and shy dogs in a way that makes them feel comfortable exploring the world around them. I’m very open minded if you have specific ways you’d like your pet handled, too! And, of course, I will never miss a poop cleanup. Regarding in home sitting, I can provide a wide variety of services. Shy kitties, nervous dogs, reptiles, amphibians, and livestock- nothing is too big of a job. But I’m not afraid to ask questions if I don’t understand how to best take care of your babies. A typically drop in visit consists of food/water, any cleanup service needed, safety checks, and outside/playtime if needed!

Let me know your pets’ quirks and preferences if you can. I pride myself on my ability to comprehend animal body language, but it is also important that I can use familiar routines to gain trust. I approach all of my clients in a calm, quiet, somewhat neutral presence by default and then change from there. First impressions are everything!
A typical day
During drop in visits, my activities depend on the animals. Some dogs love to play and have favorite games! I enjoy playing tug of war, personally. Some dogs prefer to just sit on the floor with me and be pet until it’s time to go. Cats tend to be even pickier about their routines, but I’m always happy to oblige. I try not to bring in outside toys for sanitary and health reasons. But, I’m always happy to set up fun games at home! Scentwork games are a quick and easy way to keep a dog stimulated while you’re gone. I’ve also found some cats that enjoy simple obedience activities which is always a treat.

Pet care experience
I am an upcoming veterinarian, so to say I have a passion for animal care is an understatement. I have had animals since I was a young girl and have always wanted to be very involved with their care. I have worked in the veterinary field for about 4 years, caring for animals from the most critical conditions to puppies who just need their first nail trims. There are a lot of sitters out there, but I can say without a doubt that I can give some of the best pet care available. I offer medication administration and can keep up with responsibilities like physical therapy, grooming, cleaning, etc. Additionally, the funds I receive here will go directly into my college account to pay for my current classes! Supporting me is supporting a future veterinarian.

Makayla what's the best cat sitter ever! I was away on vacation for 11 days. She took care of my kitties morning and night. She was careful and able to prevent the sneaky one from sneaking out! She also won my really shy rescue Kitty over and was able to pet her and play with both the kitties sisters the entire time. Makayla was very reliable and sent updates every time she visited. That gave me great comfort and joy. I'd highly recommend her to anyone for their pet care needs.
