Hi there! I’m a lifelong animal lover with over 25 years of hands on experience caring for pets of all kinds: big, small, scaled, and everything in between. I grew up in a home that always had rescue animals (usually 2–6 at a time!), and that naturally grew into a passion for rescue and special needs care. I’m especially comfortable working with animals who need a little extra patience, medical awareness, or emotional support. Your shy, senior, or high-needs pet is in experienced, compassionate hands with me. I’m very comfortable managing a variety of routines, from feeding schedules to more detailed care needs. I previously worked at VCA Animal Hospitals while attending vet tech school, which gave me a strong foundation in animal health, behavior, and communication with pet owners. While I ultimately chose a different path, that experience continues to shape the attentive, safety first care I provide today. I treat every home with respect and every animal like family. Whether your pet needs playtime, structure, or just a calm and reassuring presence, I’m here to make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away.

Makayla is our most cherished current housesitter for many reasons - she's genuinely warmhearted, responsible and resourceful, and our three furkids shadow her the same way they do for me. They like her company. When we come home nothing's been neglected and eveything's set to rights, exactly as you'd hope. I hate to tell people 'if you lucked in to her availability, book it, no need to keep looking,' because that would mean she's less likely to be available when *I* need her, but gatekeeping is mean, and if you're a good person you deserve Makayla in your life.
This is my second time with Makayla and she was wonderful! She had a few challenges to deal with this time, including the AC going out, but she handled it all beautifully. And was so accommodating when I missed my flight and had to stay an extra night. I cannot recommend her enough!
Makayla is very conscientious about our furkids, reliable and responsible. She ought to charge more than she does. My most princessy cat leaps into her lap for snuggles. You have to be very observant and responsive with pets and she has that intuitive way of looking after their needs that is just plain gold in a petsitter.
It is difficult for me to admit that if you have lucked into Makayla's availability you should just book her. I say that because she is responsible, on-time, takes initiative, and has both the caring heart and the expertise you would hope for anyone caring for your furfamily; but also because I hope that she is always available when I need her and if all you folks keep hiring her she won't be-! Anyway, book her with confidence but don't bogart her, is what I am saying. My three critters adore her and she thinks their foibles are cute, or at least she says so. She is a lovely person.
As always, Makayla is outstanding. She helps out with household tasks while I’m the way on my business trips and always takes fantastic care of my Pitty Mocha ! Highly recommend!
Makayla is wonderful! I was worried about leaving my sweet kitten for the first time and for an extended period while being out of touch on a cruise. Makayla put me at ease from the first interview with her sweet, positive energy. After talking with her, I realized how capable and responsible she is, beyond her years. She is very responsive, was willing to visit ahead of time and get a rundown of the house, care and vibe check with my baby, and maintained great communication for the duration of the stay. She completely put my mind at ease while I was away and I came back to a calm home/cat. I will be re-booking her again!

Schedule
As someone who works a hybrid schedule from home and is currently studying communication and anthropology online, I have the flexibility to be present and attentive throughout the day. Pet sitting is a perfect fit for my lifestyle! I genuinely love connecting with both people and animals, and I see every sit as an opportunity to experience to build community.

Safety, trust & environment
I currently live in a house with my family and 4 dogs and 2 cats. We honestly have to perfect house for pets. We have a large fenced in backyard and there are two living room separated by a kitchen, which we have further separated by baby gates to essentially give us a 'cat side' and 'dog side' since some of my family members have cat allergies. So if you are wanting to board your pet with me, rest assured that they would have their own space on the 'cat side' to give them a sense of security. None of our animals are animal aggressive and all are senior citizens, so they keep to themselves anyway. And because I live with my family I am available for full time housesitting as I have reliable care for my own pets!
