As someone who works a hybrid schedule from home and is currently studying communication and anthropology online, I have the flexibility to be present and attentive throughout the day. Pet sitting is a perfect fit for my lifestyle! I genuinely love connecting with both people and animals, and I see every sit as an opportunity to experience to build community.

I currently live in a house with my family and 4 dogs and 2 cats. We honestly have to perfect house for pets. We have a large fenced in backyard and there are two living room separated by a kitchen, which we have further separated by baby gates to essentially give us a 'cat side' and 'dog side' since some of my family members have cat allergies. So if you are wanting to board your pet with me, rest assured that they would have their own space on the 'cat side' to give them a sense of security. None of our animals are animal aggressive and all are senior citizens, so they keep to themselves anyway. And because I live with my family I am available for full time housesitting as I have reliable care for my own pets!

Pet care experience
Hi there! I’m a lifelong animal lover with over 25 years of hands on experience caring for pets of all kinds: big, small, scaled, and everything in between. I grew up in a home that always had rescue animals (usually 2–6 at a time!), and that naturally grew into a passion for rescue and special needs care. I’m especially comfortable working with animals who need a little extra patience, medical awareness, or emotional support. Your shy, senior, or high-needs pet is in experienced, compassionate hands with me. I’m very comfortable managing a variety of routines, from feeding schedules to more detailed care needs. I previously worked at VCA Animal Hospitals while attending vet tech school, which gave me a strong foundation in animal health, behavior, and communication with pet owners. While I ultimately chose a different path, that experience continues to shape the attentive, safety first care I provide today. I treat every home with respect and every animal like family. Whether your pet needs playtime, structure, or just a calm and reassuring presence, I’m here to make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away.

Makayla is wonderful! I was worried about leaving my sweet kitten for the first time and for an extended period while being out of touch on a cruise. Makayla put me at ease from the first interview with her sweet, positive energy. After talking with her, I realized how capable and responsible she is, beyond her years. She is very responsive, was willing to visit ahead of time and get a rundown of the house, care and vibe check with my baby, and maintained great communication for the duration of the stay. She completely put my mind at ease while I was away and I came back to a calm home/cat. I will be re-booking her again!

I understand the circumstances with access in and out of my apartment was not in the highest favor of the sitter. However, that is absolutely NO excuse for how dirty Makayla left my apartment. I mean, I was appalled when I came back from vacation to find my floors filthy with sticky spots and foot prints everywhere, my sink with my dogs dirty bowls in them (kibble and water and all), my countertops, stove and fridge sticky with old food inside, one of my dogs water bowl was filthy as well. not to mention she washed my dogs belongings, such as blankets and towels, in my washing machine. she definitely should have asked if that is something she could do, as i NEVER wash my dogs belongings in my washer due to smells and loose fur… and surprise, surprise… i found my washing machine smelling like dog pee and loose fur everywhere. she also told me she washed the mop head in the washer as well, that she used to clean up pee… i mean. i am livid at that thought alone and had to wash out my washing machine so many times. my rug still smells loudly of piss, which i now have to throw away. if she was there all day, i’m not sure how she would let my girl dog pee everywhere as there is a pee pad on my balcony, easily accessible. so i am not really sure if she was watching them like she said she HAD to because she was “locked” in the apartment. even with the circumstances, that were completely out of my hands because the leasing office told me they will not grant guest passes and i would have to let them in and out from wherever i am, she had absolutely no excuse to leave my place that dirty. she still seemed to be fine with the matter and followed through on sitting with the dogs. that is, of course, until i bring up how dirty she left my home, then it was a problem. i just ask that she take responsibility for how filthy she left my home, because no one wants to come back to a nasty home after a long vacation. seeing my house that way brought me to tears & i had to jump straight into cleaning to go to sleep with somewhat a piece of mind. it was so bad, i had to take the next day off of work to spend the day cleaning up. I did not leave my house that way, so i expect it to be the same upon return. I made sure to clean up very well before her arrival. she neglected my place & apperantly cleaned as much as she could. then she wants to point out 2 measly bowls i had in my sink and package trash that was their upon her arrival. the dishes in the sink was already clean & the bag of trash is from unpacking things before i left. STILL much cleaner than how she left it, so that was completely irrelevant to bring up! i will not be booking with her again. she communicated while on vacation briefly. it was one instance where i was not near my phone to let her in & she was outside for 30 mins before i could let her in. i apologize for that matter & inconvenience on my end and now i know better. however, if you are okay with coming back to a nasty home, then book!

Makayla with an absolutely amazing. She took great care of my dog and house while I was away. I would absolutely recommend her and plan on using her again.

Makayla was great. She sent updates throughout the boarding and loved on my pup during his stay. Would definitely rebook!
