Animals have always been a huge part of my life. (my soul dog’s ashes are in my paw tattoo 🐾🩷) I grew up with Rottweilers and currently have two of my own, Gino & Haus, they're my whole world! I also have a handful of kitties🥰 My passion for animal care goes back as far as I can remember. From baby videos of me crawling on my dog and giving him a big hug & kiss, to completing a veterinary training class in 10th grade, where I learned the basics of animal health and handling! There even was one time I rescued two dogs on the side of the highway who had dug out of their backyard!! I now have about 3.5 years of hands-on experience working with animals, including two years at doggy daycares, where I've cared for dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. I treat every pet like they're my own and I always try my best to give them a safe, loving, reliable person they can trust just as much as they trust you, no matter how long it takes them to warm up to me. Working with animals is more than just a job to me—it's what I love, and I plan to make it my lifelong career. Your babies safety, happiness, and well-being are always my top priority. I love to take the time to learn each pet's routine, personality, and other special needs so they feel comfortable and cared for while you're away, as if you haven’t even left! I am experienced in administering medications, following food schedules, and providing extremely gentle and personal care. Walks, drop-in visits, or overnight stays, I'll always make sure your baby gets plenty of exercise, attention, playtime, and affection (and making sure they know it!!) while I keep their routine as normal and consistent as I possibly can! I treat every pet as if they were my own, and pay close attention to their behavior so I can quickly notice and respond accordingly with any changes or concerns. You will also always get regular updates and photos about how they were and their day!

Makala was great when she did a drop in for our fur-baby Kane! He is a little shy around new people but Makayla stayed calm and made him feel comfortable! She had great communication and was so easy to work with!
I can’t recommend Makala enough for pet sitting with Rover. She’s truly one of those people who animals just love being around. She’s had dogs her whole life, so caring for them isn’t just something she does — it’s second nature to her. On top of that, she’s spent over three years working hands-on with animals and even completed a year of veterinary sciences classes, which gives her a really solid understanding of animal health and behavior. She currently works at a pet resort, where she cares for all kinds of dogs and cats every day. She’s used to different breeds, personalities, and energy levels, and she handles everything with patience and confidence. Whether it’s playtime, feeding schedules, or just giving a nervous pup some extra comfort, she genuinely shows up for them. Makala is an exceptional pet caregiver with a genuine passion for animals. She currently works at a pet resort where she cares for up to 70 dogs a day, along with cats, handling feeding, cleaning, exercise, playtime, and administering medication. She is attentive, patient, and calm, even in fast paced environments. She has a natural ability to understand animals’ needs and behaviors and treats every pet as if they were her own. Schedule
I work at a doggy daycare with a flexible schedule, so my availability varies from week to week. I am almost always able to stay overnight for house sitting, and depending on my work schedule, I can spend all day, all morning, or all afternoon and evening with your baby. I always try to spend as much time as I can with your baby. (leaving work is as hard as you can imagine) My most common shift is 1:00 PM–7:00 PM, though I can also work morning, afternoon, and split shifts, though the weekday morning shifts are extremely rare. My weekday shifts are never longer than 6.5 hours, and the only time I may be away for up to 10 hours is on the occasional Saturday when I'm scheduled for a longer shift. On Sundays, I usually work split shifts, which means I'm able to come home and spend about 2½ hours with your pet between work periods. If it's a good fit for your baby and you're comfortable with it (and comfortable paying for it😅), I'd also be happy to talk about bringing them with me to my work so they can enjoy extra socialization, enrichment, and attention, while never leaving my side! I'm committed to keeping your babies routine as normal as possible and will always communicate my schedule ahead of time so you know exactly what to expect!!
