Our schedules are set up perfectly for giving dogs the attention and care they deserve! We’re both home Thursday–Sunday (Tom’s home all the time) allowing for plenty of supervision, playtime, potty breaks, cuddles, and individualized attention throughout the day. Even better — our family owns the Montessori school right next door in Neptune, which gives us access to a HUGE fully fenced outdoor space where the dogs can safely run, explore, and play. It’s one of our favorite parts of dog sitting because it allows pups to get plenty of exercise and enrichment in a secure environment.

Information Makaela A. would like to know about your pet
For the safety and comfort of all dogs in our care, we only accept dogs that are fully vaccinated, potty trained, non-aggressive, and have a basic foundation of training. They absolutely do NOT need to be perfect — we understand every dog has their own personality — but they should be able to safely and respectfully exist in a shared environment.
A typical day
A typical day with us is structured, active, and tailored to your dog’s individual needs and routine! Mornings usually begin with breakfast, fresh water, potty time, and administering any medications or personalized care your pup may need. We always try to keep your dog’s normal routine as consistent as possible so they feel comfortable and settled while away from home. Throughout the day, dogs have access to plenty of fresh water, supervised play, attention, affection, and rest breaks. We love incorporating walks, sniff time, bones/chews, and one-on-one interaction to keep pups mentally and physically engaged. In the afternoons, we head over to the fully fenced Montessori playground right next door for safe outdoor playtime! Depending on your dog’s personality and energy level, this may include running, fetch with balls or frisbees, exploring, social play, or simply relaxing outside and soaking up the fresh air. As the day winds down, we focus on calmer enrichment activities like Kongs, lick mats, puzzle toys, chews, and relaxing indoor time so dogs can decompress and settle in comfortably for the evening. Our goal is always to create a safe, loving, fun, and low-stress environment where your dog feels right at home.

Hi! We’re Makaela and Tom — lifelong animal lovers with 4+ years of dog sitting experience combined. I’ve been a Rover sitter on and off for the past 3 years while completing graduate school, and I also have a year of dog training experience working with dogs of all sizes, breeds, personalities, and energy levels. Tom grew up in what can only be described as a “domestic zoo,” so caring for animals has always been second nature to him! Most importantly, we genuinely LOVE dogs and understand how important it is to leave your pet with people you can fully trust. Together, we provide a safe, attentive, structured, and fun environment where your dog will be treated like family while you’re away — whether you’re working, traveling, or just taking some well-deserved time for yourself. We also have our own dog, Cannoli, a 1 year 9 month old German Shepherd who is extremely socialized and absolutely lives for puppy friends and playtime. She loves having visitors and helps create a fun, active environment for social dogs. We can’t wait to meet you and your pup! 🐾

Makaela was fantastic! She helped me feel so comfortable with leaving my puppy overnight for the first time ! She sent frequent updates , photos and videos and had great play time with him! My puppy Hawk loved playing with her puppy Cannoli!
Makaela is the absolute best. She is professional, responsive, and truly loves and cares for my dog as if he were her own. My dog has issues with IVDD and separation anxiety, and I wasn’t comfortable leaving him with anyone other than family until I met Makaela. She was up to the task in meeting all of his medical requirements, and dealing with me as a helicopter pet parent. Hugo absolutely loves Auntie Makaela!!! She takes away the anxiety of leaving your pet because she provides them with a home away from home.
Makaela did great with Luna! She was responsive, kind, and provided updates throughout the day! I felt reassured that Luna was in good hands! She had a great day with Makaela!
Makaela is amazing. She did such a wonderful job caring for our two dogs! I could tell they were well taken care of while they were with her. Makaela is very reliable, friendly and responsive. I fully trust her with our fur babies! She also sends detailed updates, photos, and videos every day, which helps fill the void while you are away from your pets! It also allows you to see how they are doing and adjusting! Thank you auntie makaela, Hal and Fiona will be back soon!!!
