At the moment, I am looking for a job, so I spend most of my time at home. When I go out, it is usually for a walk in the park or to a dog-friendly café, and your dog would be welcome to come with me. If I have something specific to do, I coordinate with my partner so that someone can stay at home with the dog. If this is not possible, I will always respect the maximum amount of time that the owner is comfortable leaving them alone. What can your dog expect? Plenty of time together, walks, playtime, attention and affection.

I always adapt to each dog’s individual needs and routine. If they use a crate, we are happy to make space for it in our flat. We are also open to following any specific instructions from the owner, and we will always work together to make sure their stay is as safe, comfortable and stress-free as possible

Information Maité R. would like to know about your pet

Before the stay, it is important for us to receive all the necessary information about the dog’s feeding and sleeping routines, preferred walk length, behaviour, medication and anything else that is essential for their care. This helps us keep their routine as familiar and comfortable as possible.

A typical day

I normally wake up early, and depending on the dog’s usual routine, we either have breakfast first or go straight out for a walk. Ideally, the morning walk is a long one. I like to include some running, playing or time in the park when the dog enjoys it. After around an hour, we go back home, play a little and then start the day. Most dogs usually sleep and rest after their morning walk. For more active dogs, I am also happy to walk around the neighbourhood, explore new places or sit at a dog-friendly café together. During the afternoon, we usually have another walk around lunchtime and one more in the middle of the afternoon. The rest of the day includes plenty of time to relax, cuddle or play at home. In the evening, I like to go for another longer walk, ideally to the park, where the dog can see other dogs and spend more time outside. Depending on what they enjoy, we can stay and play or simply walk around and let them explore and smell everything at their own pace. Of course, I always adapt the routine to the dog’s energy levels, needs and the owner’s instructions.

Pet care experience

I have had dogs and cats my whole life, both indoor and outdoor pets. When I moved to the Netherlands, I missed having animals around so much that I decided to start pet sitting. I now live in London with my partner, but I am the person responsible for looking after the pets. I organise my schedule around their needs and make sure they receive plenty of company, attention and care throughout their stay. I love taking dogs on long walks, playing with them in the park and, when the weather allows and they enjoy it, taking them for a swim. I am not ready to have a pet of my own yet, so I genuinely love filling my home with the affection, energy and fun that animals bring. I have cared for very active dogs, including Jack Russells, as well as nervous or shy dogs that need patience, space and time to feel comfortable. I also have experience with younger dogs that need plenty of play, attention and clear boundaries. Pet sitting is something I truly enjoy, and my experience has shown me that patience, affection and quality time are often exactly what pets need to feel safe and happy. Now that I have moved to London, I would love to continue caring for pets here 😍

Maïté has been absolutely wonderful with our Jack Russell, Vasco. He’s a very energetic, playful, and sweet dog, and she took amazing care of him, giving him the attention, patience, and affection he needs. We always felt completely at ease knowing he was in such caring and responsible hands. Vasco was happy, well looked after, and clearly enjoyed his time with her. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Maïté to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving pet caregiver. Thank you for taking such great care of our dog!

We feel incredibly lucky to have found Maite and Luca. They were absolutely fantastic with Nina from start to finish. Nina felt at home with them straight away, which says a lot, because she can be quite particular about people. It was clear from the very beginning how much love, care and attention they gave her. Communication was always excellent. We received regular updates and photos, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. The best compliment we can give is that we never once worried about Nina. We knew she was happy, loved and in the very best hands. Maite and Luca have truly earned a special place in our hearts, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy home away from home for their dog. Thank you both for taking such wonderful care of our girl. We're quite sure Nina still misses the cuddles and walks with you! ❤️🐾

Maité took care of my dog while I was on holiday, and choosing her as a pet sitter was an incredible experience. She kept me updated with plenty of messages and photos of my Yorkshire Terrier, which gave me great peace of mind. She gave him so much love and affection, and it was clear that she has a wonderful connection with dogs. I could tell that my Andy truly enjoyed spending time with her and felt happy and well cared for. I would choose her again without any hesitation. Highly recommended!
