Pet care experience

I have had cats and dogs as pets all my life

I had 2 dogs growing up, a staffy and a jack Russel, so I have no pre judgement to dogs on their breed. People tend to dislike staffs and jacks, as people think they can be nippy and aggressive but it’s all how they are treated and raised! Always loved dogs of all breeds. No size of dog is a problem! I walked two scotty dogs during lockdown, 5 times a week for an elderly lady. Was very enjoyable, and nice to get out of the house during Covid! I have also always been more empathic towards all animals, especially cats and dogs. Pets are only around for a small chapter of our lives, but for them, we are around their whole existence, right til the end. And I think they deserve to have the most love possible in that time, that we’d all agree is too short! I don’t mind puppies or older dogs, have no issue taking them on walks, feeding and poop scooping! I am also a massive cat lover! I grew up with a moggy cat who lived until 19. I now have a Scottish Fold cat named Olive who is 4. Would love to help out families and their furry friends where I can.

Safety, trust & environment

If I am to house sit in the pet owners home, I will follow any boundaries that you already have in place for your pet. If the dog is not to go on the sofa, then it won’t. If it needs to sleep in a crate or the kitchen at night, then I will abide. However, also if you want your dog to be relaxed around the house like normal, then I will follow that too. You take the lead, pun intended ahah! I also understand that some dogs are not great with strangers, so will give space and be gentle and calm, if this is what your little character needs.

We couldn’t recommend Maisie more highly. She stayed in our home for just under a week looking after our dog Milo and was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. She kept us updated regularly with photos and messages which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. It was clear that Milo was happy, relaxed and very well looked after. When we arrived home, the house was spotless and exactly as we’d left it. It’s obvious that Maisie genuinely cares about both the pets she looks after and the homes she stays in. Thank you so much Maisie we’d be delighted to have you look after Milo again!

Maisie was an excellent sitter for our kitten Simba. Arrived on time, kept him entertained, asked about dos and don’ts, and overall really pleased. Thankyou!

Maisie is one of the most caring people I know. She loves animals and treats her pets like her family. She is also incredibly hard working and will go above and beyond when the task calls her her to do so!

Schedule

I work 8:30am - 5:30pm in an office in Thame, Monday-Friday. I can stay in surrounding areas ( 30 mins drive from Thame ) during the week so that your pet is sorted in the evenings and mornings. I also have an hour lunch break, so if the property is around 15 mins drive from Thame, then I can pop there during my break to give your pet some attention and a toilet break! I can also stay during the weekend. If your pet is more anxious and needs me to be in the majority/all of the time for the weekend, then I’m happy to do that too! Happy to take dogs on walks and or lounge around! Whatever works best for your character of pet!
