I am not able to host dogs, but I will accommodate your pet's needs and schedule in your home. I know some pets can be stressed when their person leaves, so I am sure to keep as regular of a schedule as possible and give them extra attention to make the transition easier.

It is important for me to know if your dog has any special needs, whether it be medical or personality-wise. I will also be sure to check with you before giving them any new treats and make sure the amount of treats works for them.
A typical day
Depending on what your pet likes to do, I'm up for anything! We can go for long walks, runs and hikes. I also think mental stimulation is important, so depending on what you're comfortable with I can come up with some fun games/activities for your dog like hiding treats.

Hi there! My name is Maika, an avid pet lover from the suburbs of Chicago. I’ve had years of experience caring for dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, ages and temperaments. We lost our own dog earlier this year, Blue, a rambunctious blue heeler & collie mix. I am very comfortable handling more “difficult” dogs since Blue was reactive to other dogs and other triggers. If your pet needs training I can be strict but loving at the same time! I am a huge believer in keeping dogs active to keep them happy and healthy, so I'm more than happy to take dogs on not only long walks, but runs or hikes too. I’ve always been a dog lover so Rover is the perfect opportunity for me to spend time cuddling and playing with some furry friends!

Maika did an awesome job dogsitting for my akita/husky mix - not an easy dog to take care of! At the dog park she also got along with all the types
Maika is a very loving and compassionate person. I’ve spent much time with her and witnessed her face light up when she gets to interact/give a dog some loving! She definitely has a soft spot for dogs and would be an amazing caregiver!
Maika had a dog growing up, and she has always been kind and sweet to her. She’d frequently take her on walks, feed her, and spend time with her.
