My background includes hands-on work at the Lake County Animal Shelter, where I supported the surgical team and cared for animals daily with love and compassion. I’ve fostered and rescued strays, rehoming many through the Marion County Police and working alongside several cat rescue groups. Whether it’s giving medications, handling injuries, or simply offering a comforting presence, I’m trained to provide safe, reliable, and loving care. I'm comfortable with all breeds and energy levels—from rambunctious puppies to gentle giants like Golden Retrievers. My pup Stitch was so happy to have Mahaila stop by! She did great with him and he can be a lot at times. 10/10 recommend!

Mahaila was an excellent dog and home sitter and we will definitely hire her again. We have 3 dogs, 2 bigs and a little, and she did a wonderful job. She took lots of extremely high quality photos every day. We have 2 cats that weren't on the listing because they have an automatic feeder and a litter robot and Mahaila still loved on them and made sure they have water. She also was great about keeping the dog door closed when we had the lawn guys and pool guy came, and kept the couch covered when she left to keep the cats from sharpening their claws on it. Words really can't describe how great Mahaila was for our 11 day trip
We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter than Mahaila Our dog Paisley absolutely adored her—tail wags and happy zoomies every time she saw her! Mahaila was attentive, communicative, and went above and beyond to make sure Paisley felt comfortable and loved while we were away. Highly recommend Mahaila to anyone looking for a kind, responsible, and truly amazing dog sitter!

I do work full time as a medical receptionist but I do still provide care before/after work or lunch breaks! Fully available on weekends! :)

When caring for pets in your home, I prioritize creating a safe, comfortable, and familiar environment tailored to their needs. I follow your pet’s routine—whether it’s feeding, playtime, or bedtime—keeping them secure and happy. I provide plenty of physical and mental stimulation, from walks to interactive toys, and offer extra cuddles for pets that need it. I’m experienced in administering medication and following special instructions for pets with health or dietary needs. I’ll send regular updates and photos to keep you reassured. My goal is to make sure your pet feels loved and well-cared-for while you’re away, giving you peace of mind.

I’m all about making sure your pet has the best time while you’re away! For energetic dogs, I’ll take them on exciting runs to burn off that extra energy or go on long walks to explore new scents. If your dog loves playtime, I’ll toss a ball, play tug-of-war, or engage them in interactive toys that keep their mind sharp and their body moving. If there’s a pool available, I’d love to go swimming with them, turning it into a fun, splashy workout! For cats, I’ll provide plenty of mental stimulation by playing with interactive toys, feather wands, and laser pointers. I’ll also spend time with them snuggling, brushing, or just hanging out so they feel calm and comfortable. Whether it's a vigorous run, a game of fetch, a splash in the pool, or cozy cuddle sessions, I’m dedicated to ensuring your pets have a blast while getting the care they need!
