Stay at Home Family Loves Dogs!!

Pet care experience

Hello! Thank you for considering our family to be a vacation stay for your dog! Below are some details about us, our home and our experience with dog sitting. About this sitter: I have been a sitter with Rover for about 5 years, and have loved it! My husband and I both work from home, me as a contractor and my husband as the founder and CEO of our music lesson business. Our work enables us to be flexible and home more than most, which we are extremely grateful for. We love animals and I have had dogs and cats my entire life. Our three children also love animals. They are very gentle and calm around animals, as we have taught them how to treat animals kindly and with respect, no pulling on tails or stealing toys here! Why I love dog sitting I got my first family dog, a LasoApso/Poodle mix, when I was 6, rescued from the shelter. Since then, I have always had dog(s) and/or cat(s), including one three-legged cat and later, an epileptic dog who had two reconstructive knee surgeries! Later in life, we enrolled a puppy we adopted into an intensive training and obedience program, in which we were also trained in proper dog handling. We have had dogs of all sizes, from a miniature poodle to a 100lb chocolate lab…all of which were lap dogs…even the giant lab! Meet my pets We have two 5 month old male kittens that get along great with dogs, and usually don't even pay them any attention. We have no other dogs. About my home and yard We live in a 3 story home with hardwood floors. We have an open back yard with a lead to make sure that our dog guests can safely enjoy being outside and still stay on our property. We do have steps leading to both the front and back door into the yard. My experience administering medication Yes, we can administer medication. Over the years I have had multiple pets with special needs which required medication. Our family loves animals and we're ready to love yours! Please feel free to contact us with any questions, we look forward to providing a pampered stay for your pet while you're away!

Rocky had the best time with Maggie and her 3 girls! I can't say enough good things about the way she welcomed him into her family. I was updated with multiple pictures and videos daily and when I got him back he was so happy, and I was happy because I found a great sitter while I was out of town. 100% recommended.

Cala was well looked after, Maggie and her family really doted on her and she seemed very happy and loved. Communication was great and Maggie was accommodating to some last minute changes. I think Cala has found her vacation family!

Maggie and family took great care of our Bailey. She sent so many pics. Bailey had a great time and didn’t seem to miss us at all!

We try and keep things in our home consistent with how things are in the owners home. If the dogs get free reign at their house, they will have free reign here (as long as they are potty trained and house broken). We are also happy to use a crate if that is what they are used to. We do have a large dog crate here and plenty of toys, so there is no need to transport a crate. We have a lead in the back yard to make sure that all dog guests are safe and on our property during potty breaks and outside time.

Information Maggie G. would like to know about your pet

- Is your pet house broken? We have always kept our pets as indoor pets. Other than walks and potty breaks, we enjoy having our furry friends in the house with us, as they are part of the family. - Does your pet tolerate small children well? Our children are very well behaved and know how to treat animals with respect, kindness and love, we want to make sure any pets we welcome into the home will treat them well too! - Does your dog chew? If it is manageable and they stick to their toys, that's fine. We will not accept a dog that will chew furniture or other items. - Does your dog need to be crated? If so, we do have a large crate here we can set up. - We have no breed preferences, we love them all, from tiny dogs to big dogs! - Does your dog bark a lot? Being that we have small children, they do nap during the day. - Drop off and pick-up between the hours of 9am - 9pm. If you are unable to pick up your dog before 9pm, we ask that you book an additional day and pick up during those hours.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks We have a great neighborhood for walks. Please let us know if your dog requires daily walks, especially in the colder seasons. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Your dog can sleep pretty much anywhere they choose. If they are noisy sleepers, such as pugs or bostons, that tend to snore, we probably won't have them in our bedroom, but they will still have free reign of the house. We have sheets to cover the couches at night, so they are welcome to sleep on the floor or on the couch, unless you do not let your dogs up on the couch. We want the rules to stay consistent, so we will follow whatever guidelines you set. The living room and dining room is hardwood and the kitchen tile, but all other areas of the house are carpeted. You are more than welcome to bring a dog bed as well. Time I'll spend with your dog Your dog will be with us all day long. We are a stay at home family, so with the exception of an occasional errand, we will be home and socializing with your pet all day. They will be part of our family while they are with us. We will give them free reign of the house, with the exception of a bedroom or two, unless we are in those bedrooms. If your dog is allowed on the furniture, they will have the same luxury here with us. We love to cuddle with our furry visitors!
