Pet care experience

Pets are truly the best company!

I have cared for my neighbors dogs for the past 2 years. My work with them has included checking on them almost daily (one being a senior dog and the other being a puppy) cleaning their cages and outdoor space, as well as feeding them! A few times I have stayed overnight with them as well. I grew up caring and tending for my own dog Tucker, who is featured in most of the photos in my profile. He was a black lab border collie and until he recently passed, was my best friend in the whole world. I took him for walks daily, and as he got older and had trouble walking up the stairs, would carry him up some nights and tuck him into bed before he fell asleep. I also grew up with a bunny named Leroy who brought me so much joy!

Maeve was fantastic with Butternut and Rosie! She went above and beyond, even taking them to the beach for some fun and exercise. They were clearly well cared for and we came home to happy and relaxed pups. It’s such a relief knowing they’re in great hands—highly recommend Maeve to anyone looking for a responsible and caring sitter

Maeve was wonderful! She stayed with our two very active dogs while we were on vacation and gave them lots of love and attention. Walks, hikes, swims! She made sure they were getting lots of exercise while we were gone. She was also a great communicator and super sweet! We will book with her again in the future if we can!

Maeve was exceedingly caring as a dog walker for Jack my family's 12 year old Coton de Tulear. He appeared well taken care of, and she asked about his allergies and sensitives to feed him treats.

Maeve was a wonderful pet sitter for my 9 year old dog. He loved being cared for by her! I’d love to have her watch him again!

Safety, trust & environment

Safety is the most important thing when caring for pets in a client’s home. The most important quality I bring as a sitter is great communication. If there is an issue or I have a question, communication with the client is my top priority. Along with communication, I always respect all of the boundaries that a client may set and will always put respecting their environment on the top of my list.

A typical day

With the dogs that I watch I love to spend as much time outdoors with them as possible. This includes playing outside, and going on plenty of walks. However, I am always cautious of breaks that a dog needs and I prioritize taking some time to rest indoors as well! If allowed by the owner, I love to take the dogs I watch either to local parks or to the beach! I will also always send lots of photos of our adventures to the owner if they would like them!

Understanding the special needs of dogs ahead of time is extremely important before accepting a walk or a stay. The more information about a dog's needs the better, so that I can provide the best and most accurate care for them!
