Your Dog’s Second Best Friend :)
Ever since I was really young, animals have been such a passion of mine! I started my own neighbourhood dog walking business when I was 7 years old and the love for animals has only grown! I am starting out on this platform to find some employment over the summer as I am a 22 year old, full time Psychology student, currently attending CBC in Abbotsford! Experience with animals has been gained through volunteering at the SPCA, Chilliwack Cat Safe Haven, Elkview Therapeutic Riding Academy, walking/petsitting my neighbours dogs throughout my childhood, and always being willing to care for a friend's dog or cat when necessary. I am reliable, a quick learner, and a great communicator! I would love to get to know your pet and their needs so that I can bring a joyful, caring, and fulfilling environment where you can feel reassured that they are in great hands! My experience has been sporadic throughout my life, investing my time more in some seasons than others, so due to this I put 5 years experience as my baseline.

Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. Since my housing does not allow pets, all care takes place in your home, where your pet feels most secure and relaxed. I make it a priority to follow your instructions closely regarding feeding schedules, walks, medications, house rules, and any specific preferences your pet has. I aim to create a calm, respectful environment by maintaining your pet’s normal routine, keeping spaces clean, and ensuring doors, gates, and harnesses are always secure. I am attentive to your pet’s behaviour and well-being, and I will communicate promptly if anything seems out of the ordinary. You can also expect regular photo and message updates for peace of mind while you’re away. I treat both your pet and your home with care, responsibility, and respect, so you can feel confident they are in safe and trustworthy hands.

Maelyn was great with Pacho. He is a senior who can sometimes be a bit stubborn and just needs someone who can be patient, as all he likes to do is sniff and roll around in the grass lol. He seemed comfortable with her and she did great following instructions, and communicates great! Would highly recommend her!
Maelyn was great! She was so comfortable with a new puppy and was extra mindful as my pup recently broke his leg. She ensured he was carefully back in his area before heading out. Would recommend!
Maelyn was very professional, clearly loves animals, and did an excellent job taking our pup out for us. Would absolutely have her back.

Maelyn has been such a great help with My dog. She is punctual and a great communicator. My dog is a bit of a handful at times, I feel very comfortable leaving her with my dog
Maelyn was FANTASTIC and went above and beyond. She was great at communicating, asking many thoughtful questions beforehand which made it clear she was paying attention to the details and offered to come by for an introduction beforehand. She spent several hours more than was required for a drop in visit keeping our kitty company and sent photos and wrote detailed reports. She even watered our seedlings for us! Would highly recommend her.

Schedule
I have a very flexible schedule over the summer as I am off school and actively looking for work, which allows me to be available for a wide range of pet care needs throughout the week. I am able to provide daytime visits, dog walking, feeding, playtime, socialization, and consistent companionship, as well as photo updates so you can feel reassured while you’re away. Because my current housing does not allow pets, I am only able to provide overnight care within your home. This also allows your pet to remain comfortable in their familiar environment and routine. I am committed to being reliable, communicative, and attentive to your pet’s specific needs to ensure they feel safe, cared for, and loved.
