Safety, trust & environment

I work from home and have a yard, which means your pup will have plenty of time, attention, and space throughout the day. My goal is to make them feel safe, cared for, and loved while you’re away. I'm extra cautious with people's pets - I never take them off leash in public spaces, I won't go to dog parks unless requested and I always walk with basic first aid, water and backup lead for whatever might happen or cross our paths.

Information Mae M. would like to know about your pet

I'm happy meeting dogs where they are but I need accurate information about their needs to do my job to the best of my abilities. I need to know about: Allergies Medication Reactivity level (on leash and at home) Resource guarding Seperation anxiety If your pet has specific triggers if your dog would prefer a crate for their visit, or other special requests.

A typical day

I work from home, so your pup will have company throughout the day and plenty of attention. I like to keep the dogs I’m caring for close by, whether we’re relaxing inside or enjoying time in the yard. When the weather is nice, I often work outside in my yard, where your pup can sniff, lounge, play, or relax in the sun. Right now the front gate is being replaced so I keep dogs on a long lead tied to an ancient and immovable maple tree. There’s also a dog house available for shade and comfort. I love enrichment activities and have snuffle mats, lick mats, and scent games to help keep dogs mentally engaged. I’m also happy to make Kongs or other enrichment treats, as long as you let me know about any allergies or food restrictions. I’m happy to play with your pup, teach them tricks, practice basic manners, or simply give them a calm and caring place to spend their day.

Pet care experience

I’ve been a dog owner my entire adult life, and caring for dogs has always been a huge part of who I am. Over the years, I’ve rescued dogs in need, which has given me hands-on experience with anxious, reactive, timid, and misunderstood pups, especially those who may not have had the easiest start in life. I’m patient, calm, and comfortable meeting dogs where they are. Whether your pup needs extra reassurance, space to decompress, a slower introduction, or just someone who understands their unique personality, I’ll treat them with kindness, respect, and the care they deserve. I also have experience with large breeds, including Dobermans, Bernese Mountain Dogs, and Great Danes, so I’m comfortable caring for big dogs with big personalities and big hearts. I also have cared for seniors and am comfortable giving medication orally or injecting. My last rescue passed unexpectedly, and while I’m healing, I deeply miss having a dog in my daily life. I would be honored to care for yours when life gets busy or overwhelming, and to give them the same patience, love, and comfort I gave my own. *As I have large & extra large dog and reactive/special needs dog experience a lot of my doggy clients are one or all so I only watch one dog at a time so I can be extra attentive to their needs and keep them safe and secure. I will make exceptions if multiple dogs are from the same household or know each other very well, but otherwise it's single sits only! *I have a yard but it is currently unfenced in the front as the door is being replaced. I keep my dog visitors on a long lead secured to my maple tree in the yard and I never leave them alone for safety.

Mae was fantastic with Waffle! We loved all the photo updates we received, and it’s clear Mae is a true dog lover who genuinely enjoyed spending time with him. Waffle is looking forward to the next visit!

Mae took incredible care of our senior dog with arthritis, providing frequent detailed updates and photos which took away any need to worry. She made our dog immediately feel comfortable with her and in her home, which is ideal for any pet. I'd highly recommend her to anyone!

Mae has extensive experience with many breeds and personality types of dogs. She has often dog-sat for my high energy Boston Terrier through young to elderly. She has owned 2 rescue dogs, trained reactive dogs, jas experience with dogs who have allergies or medical requorements, and has dog-sat breeds from chihuahua mixes to pitbulls. I highy recommend her as a carer and dogsitter who will be most attentive to your dog's needs.
