While in college, I also worked for Fetch the Leash, a professional pet-sitting company, for four years and truly loved the work. After that, I served as the General Manager of Bark ATL, a cage-free dog daycare and boarding facility, for a year and a half—an experience I absolutely adored. For the past four years, I have worked as an independent pet sitter.

Information Madison W. would like to know about your pet

It’s important to me to learn as much as I can about each pet ahead of time so I can provide safe, personalized care. Knowing their daily routine, feeding schedule, medications, medical history, personality quirks, fears, and favorite things helps me care for them in a way that feels familiar and comforting. I also love learning how they interact with new people, other animals, and their surroundings. Having this insight allows me to minimize stress, anticipate their needs, and make sure every pet feels comfortable, secure, and genuinely cared for while their owner is away. I am highly experienced with fearful and special-needs animals and am very comfortable administering insulin, subcutaneous fluids, inhalers for both canines and felines, and medications. I treat every animal in my care as if they were my own and am deeply attuned to feline and canine behavior, comfort, and routine. I do this job because I genuinely love it, and I can promise that your pet will be cared for with the same love and devotion. Making sure every animal feels safe, happy, and deeply cared for is what matters most to me.

A typical day

I love keeping pets mentally and physically engaged while their families are away. Depending on the pet’s personality, age, and energy level, this can include walks, playtime with toys, enrichment games, training reinforcement, cuddle time, and outdoor time. For cats and lower-energy pets, I focus on interactive play, enrichment toys, and plenty of affection and companionship. As a runner, I’m happy to offer runs for dogs that enjoy a more active outing. If your pup has lots of energy, I’d be glad to take them on a run instead of a standard walk, if that’s your preference. I tailor activities to each pet’s comfort level and routine to help them feel happy, relaxed, and loved while you’re away.

Pet care experience

I have lived with and loved animals my entire life and began pet-sitting at a very young age. During college, I founded my own animal rescue, Three Paws Animal Rescue, through which I helped save more than 1,200 high-risk animals from kill shelters over the course of three years. I have fostered over 650 cats and dogs, caring for each as if they were my own. I am CPR and First Aid certified through American Red Cross for both canines and felines. I am a graduate of the Fear-Free Pet Sitter Certification Program.

Madison was excellent! We had to find someone to walk our dog pretty last minute as our accommodations indicated that they were not pet friendly. Our dog stayed at my Mom’s house, but I needed someone to get some energy out of her outside of the house. Madison gladly accepted the booking and was fantastic throughout the whole extended weekend. She was very communicative, extremely polite, and always on time! Equally as importantly, our dog loved going on walks with her. We’d gladly have Madison watch our dog in the future!
