Availability

Currently I work in education so Rover is my evening/weekend/extended break job and I have a much more open availability then. However, throughout the week I can accommodate early morning and late afternoon drop ins/stays and long weekend trips; best for pets who are okay to be alone during the workday. I am free and dedicated to your pets during these times! I have limited availability for boarding small/medium dogs in my home: we live in a dog-friendly apartment complex that has a fenced-in dog park and a larger nearby public dog park as well. My partner also works from home most of the week and helps care for our boarded pups, so you will meet us both should you choose to have your pet stay with us.

Safety, trust & environment

I hope to co-create a plan for care that all humans and pets involved are comfortable with. When we discuss walks/pet-sitting, please let me know any triggers, allergies, health/behavior issues, and any other quirks about your pets that would be helpful for me to know. I can crate your dog if needed and feed your pets on their schedule! Let me know how often they need to use the bathroom and any of their other normal routines. I can communicate as often as you'd like and love sending photos. Your pup is in good hands!

Information Madison L. would like to know about your pet

Please alert me to any behavioral and physical issues/needs so I can best accommodate your pup. Things like allergies, reactivity, triggers, injuries, and any other quirks your pup might have are important for me to know! I will also ask about your preference of emergency vet and an emergency contact. When house-sitting, please let me know where to find things like: cleaning solution, towels for dog use, treats. I'd also like to know if there are any cameras I should be aware of. Thank you!

A typical day

I am a huge advocate for both mental and physical stimulation! I love doing puzzle games (treat towels, snuffle toys, other food-releasing puzzle toys, etc) and training with dogs to work their minds and also go on long walks to exercise their bodies! I believe both are important to keep a dog happy and healthy. We can go on long brisk walks and also long slow and sniffy walks so they have a chance to explore at their own pace and stimulate their minds!

Pet care experience

I've taken care of dogs since I was young, living with my grandma's elderly poodle mix and later her two Pomeranian puppies who I would house-sit. I adopted my own dog, Basil, when he was 2 months old (he's now 6!). He's a medium-sized Sheltie who knows his basic commands and a couple fun tricks, is fully potty-trained, crate-trained, and responsive to other dogs' energy and personalities. I typically groom him myself, so am very familiar with bathing (and drying) double-coated dogs with long fur. I am very cognizant of dog behavior signs and will keep a close eye out for telltale signs of stress, wariness, and/or anxiety when and if our pups meet. I have cared for small pets as well such as birds and guinea pigs. I can't wait to hang out with your pets!

Madison took great care of our two big dogs while we were away for Christmas for 6 days! She walked them multiple times every day, cleaned up after them, and also took great care of our house while we were away. She was easy to communicate with and also shared pictures of the dogs having a great time while we were gone. We'll look forward to working with her again!!

Madison is our go to person when we need someone to take care of our dogs. We can go away stress free knowing they will be well taken care of. Could not recommend more.
