After that, it’s time for breakfast—served just the way the pet is used to, whether it’s kibble, wet food, or a special diet. I always make sure water bowls are clean and full, and any medications are given as scheduled. Throughout the day, I keep pets active and engaged with walks, playtime, or enrichment activities like puzzle toys or gentle training. I pay close attention to their energy levels and comfort, adjusting the pace as needed. If they enjoy cuddles or downtime, we’ll relax together—whether that means lounging on the couch or soaking up some sunshine outside. In the afternoon, there’s usually another potty break or walk, along with some quiet time or a nap. I stay in touch with owners by sending updates, photos, and videos so they know how their pet is doing. Dinner is served in the evening, followed by one last walk or bathroom break before settling in for the night. I keep their sleeping area clean and cozy and try to keep bedtime routines as close to home as possible to help them feel safe and relaxed. Every pet is different, so I always tailor the day to their needs, habits, and preferences. My goal is to keep them happy, healthy, and loved until their family returns.
