Hi, I’m Madi. I am a Physician Assistant student who walks dogs (and cares for other pets) in my spare time to help finance my education. I am a long-time dog owner myself (my boy Zeke is the one in the blue polo shirt in my photos) and I have over ten years of experience working with animals, from dogs and cats to guinea pigs and parrots. And although I study human medicine, I used to work as a veterinary assistant in the past, so I’m knowledgeable about animal medicine too! If desired, I’m happy to provide references from my most recent professional work with animals, which occurred outside of Rover. Feel free to reach out with any questions. Safety, trust & environment
For dogs: I require meet and greets (at no cost) with you and your dog before committing to a booking. The reason for this is so your dog and I can meet in the presence of a familiar person (you) so that they're more comfortable. This helps keep me, your dog, and your home safe! Even the friendliest of dogs can get anxious and act unpredictably if a stranger (me) enters their home while you are not there. Additionally, if you have a dog over 100 pounds you would like me to walk, I might request to try walking them a short distance while you are present, before confirming any booking where I will be walking them on my own. This would be part of the meet and greet and I would not charge you!

Our very picky dog had a great time with Madi and her dad. We usually have one family member missing from our vacations to stay back with our dog because of his temperament, but we went on a week-long cruise totally at ease with leaving Rico with Madi and her family. It was our first time using a sitter since our dog seems to only accept family members, but both Madi and Rico survived each other! He seemed to really be enjoying himself in the pictures I got while on vacation and when I picked him up. We couldn't have been happier and will definitely be repeat clients.

My dog was VERY happy to see me but he clearly had a great time with Madi and her family. We were only gone for two days and got two pictures and saw more when we picked him up.
Our dogs enjoyed their drop in visits from Madi this week. She’s very friendly and our dogs loved the company while I was at work!
Had a great experience with Madi. She watched my 2.5 year old dog for almost a week with no issues. I loved getting a new picture of him every day. He was very clearly relaxed and enjoying himself while I was out of town.

Schedule
I am currently on clinical rotations for my grad program, so my schedule can vary, but for the most part I am available weekends, weekday evenings, and holidays.

- Please let me know about any medical problems, medications, or allergies that I need to know about. I also always ask about temperament with dogs; when out on walks, if they're friendly to other dogs or if they should stay away, and how they are when meeting new people. I'll also need to know how to contact your veterinarian in case of emergency.
