PAWS Chicago Volunteer & Dog Lover
I have been volunteering with PAWS Chicago since October 2025, where I care for dogs through daily walks, preparing food and water bowls, organizing bedding, doing laundry, and helping maintain clean and comfortable spaces. This experience has helped me understand different dog personalities, energy levels, and individual needs. I have also cared for dogs through personal experiences, including watching an elderly dog for a week in Des Moines and helping care for a dog while completing my master’s program at Iowa State University. These experiences taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and providing gentle care, especially for senior dogs. Although I have not had a dog of my own yet, I have always been comfortable around dogs and have cared for friends’ and family members’ pets with the same love and responsibility I would give my own. Caring for animals brings me happiness, and I strive to make every dog feel safe, loved, and comfortable.

Madhuri was such a good sitter, professional and communicative and went above and beyond. She sent great amount of photos and check ins. Milo ended up getting sick while at her house and she let us know and contacted us immediately and when we saw the issue let us come get him early. She was kind and gracious about the entire situation and we are so appreciative.

Maddy is great with dogs! She loves caring for my family's dog. She grew up taking care of her family's dog and their cats. She volunteers at the local PAWS shelter helping to train/ take care of different types of dogs. She does walks, play time, dinner time, and bed time. I've trusted my lil'guy to her for weekends a few times and he loves vacationing with her!

Schedule
I work from home most weeks, which allows me to provide plenty of attention, companionship, and supervision throughout the day. I currently only commute to my Naperville office about every other Wednesday, giving me a flexible schedule for pet care. I am available for walks, drop-in visits, and house sitting throughout the week, including weekends. My husband is home Thursdays and Fridays, and we both enjoy having dogs around and creating a calm, welcoming environment for them.

I treat every dog as an individual and take the time to understand their routine, personality, comfort level, and specific needs. I follow owner instructions carefully regarding feeding schedules, walks, medications, and any special care requirements. For house sitting, I prioritize keeping pets comfortable in their familiar environment while maintaining their normal routine. For future boarding, my apartment is located in a dog-friendly area with access to walking spaces, dog parks, and nearby outdoor areas. I focus on providing a safe, clean, calm, and loving environment where dogs feel secure while their owners are away.
