Safety, trust & environment

I can easily adapt to any and all rules of the house. I had my dog crate trained, but he also slept on the bed. I spend a lot of time with the animal outside, if possible. I will do whatever is needed to make the animal more comfortable. My dog Stranger used to have separation anxiety so he had a safe space when we were out. He LOVED snow but had such tiny feet that we had to put booties on his feet to go play in snow or go hiking in cold weather. My friend's dog couldn't climb stairs but wanted to be where I was, so I carried him up and down so he felt safe. Whatever is needed, I can help.

Information Madelynn H. would like to know about your pet

I like to know about medicines, the dog's normal daily schedule, and anything that could trigger a behavior, whether good or bad, such as extra energy or sadness. Also how the dog interacts with humans, other animals, and food.

A typical day

I will play pretty much any game the dog wants. Tug of war with a rope, fetch for hours, going for a long walk, or just sunbathing.

Pet care experience

I love all animals, especially dogs. I grew up in a home where in addition to the 2-3 dogs of our own, we fostered up to 3 other dogs. I've cared for dogs with medical needs, dogs that are aggressive, and dogs of all sizes. I have had my own dog, Stranger, a mix of a few breeds, who was too smart for his own good, which increased my creativity with how we played or tested his intelligence. I love running, playing fetch, or simply sun bathing with dogs so that they get excercise and enjoy outside for a while. I have also taken care of cats, reptiles, and enjoy any animal interaction!

Madelynn was incredibly flexible and able to add in extra walks last minute when we were forced to remain out of town for a family emergency. She was incredibly responsive and wonderful to our dogs.
