Expert Dog Care & Tail-Wagging Fun!

Growing up, I always knew my passion was for animals. I dreamed of caring for them, rehabilitating them, learning about them, and building meaningful relationships with them. I was raised with a variety of pets, including dogs of all sizes—from an English Mastiff to a Chihuahua—as well as a ferret, hamsters, and mice. (My mom was allergic to cats, but we did have outdoor cats!) Throughout my teenage years, I frequently dog-sat and volunteered at animal shelters. I even attended school briefly to study veterinary medicine with the goal of becoming a registered veterinary technician. During that time, I worked as a veterinary assistant at a fast-paced animal hospital. There, I gained valuable hands-on experience, including expressing anal glands, performing nail trims, and collecting blood samples from cephalic, saphenous, and jugular veins. I also learned to administer vaccinations, sedatives, analgesics, and other injections—whether subcutaneous, intramuscular, or intravenous. In addition to these technical skills, I was trained in properly and safely restraining animals, giving oral medications, and conducting thorough physical exams to detect abnormalities. Beyond veterinary work, I also served as a kennel technician and dog trainer. I learned to read dog body language and behavior and used that knowledge to build healthy, trusting relationships with dogs. I taught foundational commands like sit, down, touch, place, come, loose leash walking, heel, and more—with both efficiency and care. I then would coach dog parents on how to maintain consistent training at home. I also have positively conditioned dogs with a variety of tools such as regular flat collars, slip leashes, harnesses, prong collars, e-collars and more! To solidify their skills, I took dogs on exposure outings to practice commands in real-world environments full of distractions. I’ve worked with behaviorally challenged dogs as well—those struggling with under-socialization, reactivity, or aggression. By applying my understanding of dog psychology, training methods, and trigger management, I’ve helped both dogs and their owners overcome obstacles and build happier, healthier lives together. Currently, I work at an animal shelter as 1 of the 4 Senior Animal Care Specialists where I conduct behavior assessments and develop plans to make animals more adoptable or eligible for rescue placement. I’ve had the privilege of assisting in the successful placement of many animals, thanks to consistent work, observation, and advocacy for their true potential. One of my tasks I am assigned to as a Senior Animal Care is to oversee our Volunteer Dog Walking program and Enrichment Program. I help run classes and teach volunteers basic dog body language, positive reinforcement, and how to use dog walking and training tools. I have continued to dog/cat sit and dog walk for friends, coworkers, and previous clients. I love my career and every opportunity I’ve had to work with animals. Now, I want to extend that passion to my local community through dog walking and pet sitting. You can depend on me to care for your fur babies as if they were my own. I’ll send detailed updates with every visit—complete with photos and videos—so you can feel confident and at ease while you’re away. With my years of experience across multiple areas of animal care, your pets are in capable, loving hands.

I had a fantastic experience with Maddie watching our dogs Jake and Thor. From the moment we met, it was clear that she truly loves animals and is extremely responsible. Maddie kept us updated with daily photos and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Jake and Thor came back happy, healthy, and clearly well cared for. I could tell they got plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. The house was also left in great shape, and it was obvious that Maddie went above and beyond. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving pet sitter. I’ll definitely be booking with Maddie again in the future!

Maddie was amazing. We have a senior dog who will have flare ups of intestinal issues and not want to eat when we're gone. Maddie however did an amazing job with getting Molly to trust her. Maddie sent plenty of videos and photos while we were gone and gave us detailed updates. I will be recommending her to my friends and using her again!

My husband and I had to leave the State for 4 days. Madelyn walked our Chewie twice a day and fed him and our three cats. She cleaned the litter box. She was so amazing! She took pictures every visit and kept us informed on how they were doing. She was able to put our minds at ease. Chewie and our cats fell in love with her and we would definitely hire her again. She is very reliable and a pleasure to work with.

I 100% recommend Maddie to take care of your fur babies. She was amazing when she dropped by to check on our four dogs. She followed instructions very well and communicated with me in a timely manner. She also was great at sendings updates, along with pictures and videos of our pups and how they were doing. She also cleaned up after our pups, which we greatly appreciate. Our dogs absolutely loved her as well, she was simply amazing. Thank you so much Maddie.

I had Madelyn come take my dogs out for a day while I was out of town . She communicated with me very well and went slow with my shy dog . She was very patient with my dogs and went at their pace . She came 3 times and worked around her schedule and was very consistent. I had just asked her too take them out for potty a couple of times but she did more than what was asked. She took them for a little walk and did play with them and spent time with them for a little while after . I would highly recommended Madelyn for taking care of pets as she was very trustworthy , and amazing overall .

Schedule

I currently work full-time at an animal shelter; however, my weekends are Friday and Saturday! That means I’m available to watch your kiddos while you enjoy your weekend—whether you’re heading out of town, running errands, or just taking some well-deserved time for yourself. From Sunday through Thursday, I’m available for morning dog walks and check-ins, and I can also provide additional check-ins during my lunch breaks (as long as it is within appropriate distance). After work, I’m happy to help with any of your pets’ needs—making sure they’re exercised, fed, and cared for so you can relax after a long day or enjoy your evening plans worry-free.

I’ve worked with animals of all temperaments and personalities, including those with special medical needs, behavior challenges, and strict diets, so I feel confident in my ability to provide attentive, compassionate, and individualized care.
