Safety, trust & environment
When caring for pets in your home or on walks, I prioritize their safety and wellbeing. I follow your care instructions to keep to your pet's usual routine, including regular feeding, administering medications, exercise, and managing any special needs. I keep a clean and safe environment, cleaning up after your pet and addressing any hazards. If anything seems off, I will immediately let you know. Outside, it is important that I stay aware of our environment and remain flexible based on your pet's behavior and comfort around other animals, people, and other stimuli. I adjust leash length, redirect, reroute, or provide training according to the situation, ensuring your pet's safety and comfort at all times. Drop-in visits: I will make sure your pet gets lots of attention, playtime, and exercise. I will feed them, refresh their water, and clean their litter or any messes. Depending on what your pet enjoys most, we can play games with their favorite toys or practice tricks and other activities to stimulate their minds. If your pet loves cuddles, they will be getting plenty from me. Dog walking: I love providing both physical and mental stimulation for your pet during our walks. We'll explore nearby neighborhoods and parks, making sure they gets the exercise they need. We can also play games and work on tricks and basic training, depending on what you are looking for. House sitting: I will stay overnight to ensure your pet receives consistent care and companionship, helping them maintain their routine and feel secure while you are away. During this time, I will provide two feedings (one at night and one in the morning), fresh water, any necessary medications, clean litter boxes or any messes, walks, and plenty of playtime and exercise to keep your pet happy and healthy. Your pet will also enjoy lots of cuddles and companionship as long as they love affection. Although I will need to leave for a few hours at a time, several times a day, to manage other drop-in visits, dog walking, and personal errands, I will always prioritize your pet’s needs and stay close by. By house sitting, I will stay with your pet overnight to provide more consistent care and reduce any stress of being alone.
Information Maddy L. would like to know about your pet
I’d love to get a sense of your pet’s personalities and needs so I can provide the best care possible! Please let me know if your pet has any special requirements or behaviors I should be aware of. It’s also helpful to know where food, treats, toys, leashes, litter boxes, keys, and other essentials are located in advance. I will work with you to provide the best care for your friend! For new clients, I offer a complimentary meet-and-greet. This helps your pet feel more comfortable around me and allows me to understand how I can provide the best care possible. Ideally, we will meet in person, but a video call works if timing is tight. During this time, we can arrange a key exchange if needed.

Experience with all kinds of pets!
Pet care experience
With over 18 years of experience caring for dogs, cats, and small mammals, I have had the joy of pet sitting and dog walking for hundreds of clients. My prior experience as an Animal Care Assistant strengthened my ability to understand and respond to your pet's unique needs in ways that build toward a trusting and nourishing relationship. I also cared for and trained my own dog throughout most of his 15 years of life, as well as my two rats for their 3 years. These experiences have given me valuable experience with specialized care, including senior care, oral medications, inhalers, and nebulizer treatments. My top priority is making sure your pets are happy, healthy, safe, and loved while you're away. Before caring for them, I'll take the time to learn about their routines, personalities, preferences, and needs so I can provide them with care that feels familiar and comfortable to them. I also remain flexible and will adjust my approach as needed based on how your pet is feeling and responding. Open communication is important to me, and I want you to feel comfortable knowing your pets are in good hands. I will keep you updated through my time with them, and of course send plenty of photos! I know how much trust it takes to leave a beloved pet in someone else's care, so I'm committed to providing thoughtful and dependable care for every animal I meet. I can't wait to meet you and your friend! 🚨 If you are new to Rover, use my promotional code MADDYL40312 for $20 off your first booking! 🚨

Super sweet person, did a great job walking Lex. She goes above and beyond for sure. This was my first time using rover and I’m glad I picked her.

Maddy is the best Rover you could ask for! She is flexible, communicative, and she truly cares for our two cats. We'd recommend her to anyone looking for kind and compassionate care for their animals.

Maddy is simply the best. She takes great care of my two cats every time and sends dozens of pictures. I can tell she cares deeply about animals and treats others’ pets like they’re her own. Thank you again, Maddy!

Maddy is the best Rover around! Terrific communication. Extremely easy to work with. Our cats know and love her. We're always grateful to have a Rover as trustworthy as Maddy. She will always be our first choice to look after our two cats.
